    Abby,

there is a website called www.britishexpats.com which has an excellent forum section, including one on Spain. The folk on there are a mine of useful information (and some not so useful!:p ) they will be able to give you a lot of relevant advice

    Def Go!

And if they don't like it say

"Besa mi Culo" (your first spanish lesson!)

    Pronounced Bethar me coolo

    ... Kiss my a55!

well actually the 's' is pronounced as an s and not a th (spanish c/z). ;)

Sounds like you want to go to spain. Do what you want to do - but I'd suggest leaving your job in the right way and handing in a letter of notice.

Right now I'm attached to power. Good little laptop :)
I have a few offers of where to go.
I can go to a village in Switzerland, french speaking part. It looks gorgeous and I can go horse riding kayaking blah blah. Or there is a family in southern france who run a hotel who need an aupair for 6 months. Or Spain in a place in Galicia, not much to do but be outside a lot! Milan, Rome or I could start in Paris at the end of the month
    Money money money.

My only advice would be that bearing in mind your age and that you haven't lived abroad, I would opt for whatever will give you the best opportunity for new activities/interests and meeting people/making friends.

Although I am behind you 100%, I would hate for you to have had the guts to make this move, only to end up in some isolated spot with little to do, and little oportunity to meet people and make friends

Personally, I would choose Switzerland, but tht's only because I'm a snowboarder and I love the Alps!:D

    Keep us posted

If you go to Spain you needn't take much because they have fab places to shop out there - Zara and even good old C&A (a reasonably priced dept store selling clothes and shoes that used to be over here). Another good shop is called Al Campo - its like a massive hypermarket that sells literally everything - their clothes are fab and cheap too.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do. Personally, I would opt for Spain, learn the lingo and then go somewhere else.

You can take cats and dogs pretty freely within the EU with a petys passport. Weve looked into it ourselves, but its not for us right now. In france Ive read you dont even have to have a pets passport you can jsut take them? might be an idea to look into ?
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
