Thank you everyone, I feel a lot stronger this morning after reading your replys, and i AM going to finish filling in the forms today and post them. putting it off is going to make it worse.

plasticpennies, thanks for the advice about the explanation part, so relieved i dont need to go into the vicious circle of borrowing, but can just explain main two points which started this snowball (to nice a word ) of debt, which were, marriage broke down and housing benefit shortfall. ( more of a huge long fall ).

I have been up and down all day like a yo-yo, but i have finished the forms and posted them :j
The next job on my list was to cancel sky ( have basic and kids mix) as i only watch e4 or bbc1 & 3 etc which are free to view, my little one loves nick jr but decided she would have to cope . rang sky and told them i can't afford it at the moment as sorting out new budget, she asked what i watched etc told her only free channels and kids ones, she then asked how long did i think it would take to sort my budget out i said i would probably ring back in 6 months, she then put me on hold , then came back and said i could cancel sky basic package, and have sky free to view and keep all the kids mix channels and sky + recording feature FREE :j for six months, amazing. That has cheered me up.

Dizzy I hope you don't mind me hijacking your thread - I thought it would be useful as we are running in parallel with 2 different debt agencies.

Anyway - I had a phonecall from CCCS tonight - the lovely Judith - and she was concerned that my increased state pension this month would take me over the £50 surplus. I was at £16. I absolutely pannicked and nearly threw up. My pension had only gone up by £30. Anyway, I might have told her incorrectly about how often I got paid. She multiplied the weekly amount by 52 then divided by 12 - this gave me a £165 surplus!! I panicked again - we both said it seemed a big increase and looked incorrect, but it was left that I was to contact the bancruptcy section on Monday.
Anyway - I struggled with the figures, and found my payment notification for 2008, and looked at how much I had been receiving every month - we should have just multiplied the weekly figure by 4. That comes in line with last years payments, so should be the same this year. That means my surplus is £46.56 - wooohooo!!

What a releif - I just hope its right. I am going to contact the pension people on Monday to confirm the amount, then phone Judith again.... Fingers crossed.

  • :j The intermediary has just rung me, she was very nice and went through the details i put on the forms i sent back, She is going to send me my barcode and a copy of application to go over and a letter to sign which i have to send back to them, when i have paid my £90 i need to ring and leave message for my intermediary to ring me. when she rings she will confirm i'm happy to go ahead with DRO and she will submit my application.

oh my god i'm all a quivering wreck, not sure if its nerves, relief or sheer panic, So i think my application could be sent to the OR next week sometime depending on when the postman brings my letter. I have the £90 saved up ready to pay.

Thank you all so much for helping me to get this far.

I apologise in advance for any blubbering posts i make next week while waiting for the OR's decission, think i can feel a full blown panic coming on.

Hi every one, needed to come and see you all, i've not slept, mind is going over and over everything, I feel like i'm on a run away train, can't get my head round the fact that the OR will be deciding about granting my DRO next week . My intermediary said i would here from the OR within 2 days of my application being sent. so i could be bankrupt so to speak by thursday'ish.
I'm getting so worried that my application will be rejected, I know there is no reason for it to be, but just can't help worring about it.

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend and enjoying the sunshine.
Thanks for listening to me blabber on, it's just my nerves.
