Can I ask if you are reading our responses and what you have thought of the ideas?:o:)0 -
I am a board guide on this forum, and I do read it a lot more threads on here than I post. I do have my personal opinion on things but it seems difficult to post them when there are is a clear clique on this board. It is made harder by the fact that everyone on here seems to have a dagger dug in deep towards the board guides.
The same threads rehashing the news stories in different guises and in the GIOL board, I would merge them but to do so here would incite an uproar so it gets left.
Some would be the operative word....I have no dagger in any board guides back, I know how hard it is to moderate a forum. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

I've read and even thanked an occasional post of yours. In fact, it was you I was thinking of when I was hoping more interest was there.
Its interesting cliques are so clearly seen. I think there are cliques through out the site, and, as I have already agreed, I think we are a bit, but I think rather than being one clique we are a group of interlinkied cliques. But your perception is different, it seems. Can yu expand at all? It might be that you feel you can't in your role though, I understand that.
News stories ARE looked at from a different angle here, I agree, but I think its part of the point of ''us''.:o0 -

People here seem to be convinced that certain people have certain other usernames, but I can't figure out how they know. Is there some sort of tool on MSE or elsewhere that tells them?
They cant, they just blindly accuse people in a similar way that they used to shout "witch" in medieval times. Its another way for the clique to control the board, if your face doesnt fit or they dont like what you have to say, you get accused of being a sock puppet and hassled, mainly to stop you posting or to dilute the point of your posts.
It's easier to dismiss you by claiming your a sock puppet than face the alternative that there is a lot of people who dont agree with them.
Its another form of bullying, something this board excels at.0 -
Less personal abuse on this thread would be helpful, as it detracts from the point of the thread.
I'm sure there are people who come on MSE purely to bicker, but to make a decision based on their behaviour or views would be a sad neglect of the hundreds of regular users, not to say the tens or hundreds of thousands of less frequent or new users.
I think to ignore discussion of the most important, expensive things anyone will ever buy - houses - and shunt it off to the murkiest reaches of a moneysaving site seems very odd to me.
Surely, it should be right at the top?
What could be more important?
Not everyone's personal ambition in life is to buy a house.0 -
It's certainly not mine Misskool!
Errr....not so sure why I am here, mini identity crisis looming (joke by the way, this is not nasty sarcastic, just lightening the mood)We made it! Topov, with this, at least I agree with you. I think in the beginning at least, it was just this, and it annoyed the dickens out of me. But its quite clear now people are joining with plays on names etc, its become tedious in the extreme. I don't accept rudeness and accusations are limited to this board though...sadly.0 -

My concern would be that the very bearish posters would stray into the housing board, best to contain them here where they seem quite content 'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
I also think this has to be the hardest board to moderate. What seems irrelevent to someone is very relevent to someone else. The boundaries are much fuzzier and censoring/moving any post will probably lead to an avalanche of criticism. Here's a hug to all the board guides (divadee included) :grouphug:0
