My Dr offered me CBT which I am on my third week/ 6 off atm, but it isn't CBT IFYKWIM! I was told she would refer me for it and I had an hour long initial over the phone consultation and was told that I could have CBT I was told to come along to a group therapy and we have barely mentioned CBT. I feel that counselling provsion is very patchy .0

CBT is available on the NHS, and well used. Some areas may have a few months waiting list, so for someone on a waiting list the online free DIY course www.livinglifetothefull.com could be a helpful stop gap until appointment time. The course was written in collaboration with the NHS and the NHS gives it its full support.
CBT, like any physical therapy, requires some effort from the participant and the ability to discover and use that effort is part of its therapeutic value. Just like physio therapy - no pain, no gain.
Best wishes to all......................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Keep smiling everyone - things will get better
Had my 5th session of counselling - so glad I get it. Was only getting 6 initially but she asked me where I wanted to go from here and I said that I would probably benefit from more so I am getting another 2 to begin with.0 -
Thanks Louise22,
I'm trying so hard to be positive but the fates certainly seem to be conspiring against me
Ds had his ESA medical today but it's had to be deferred as he was seen by a Nurse Practitioner and due to his previous medical history needs to be seen by a Doctor! It was a body blow to both of us and means yet another wait. We went to see the GP regarding his having CFS but it's one of those conditions where others need to be discounted first and again his previous medical history is going to make it a difficult diagnosis.
I speak to my dd on skype a couple of times a week, it's difficult because of the time difference, and it's really hard I miss her so much, she's my best friend and I have a huge hole in my life. I don't tell her I miss her because I don't want to spoil her life, she's got to get used to living thousands of miles away from any family at all so she's got it harder.
My grand daughter has her birthday next week and we're having to negotiate who's having her when (mum and dad no longer together).
I'm trying so hard to be positive but it's soo hard, I really can't see things getting any better.
I hate feeling sorry for myself so that makes me unhappy, it seems to be catch 220 -

I am no expert in property but have lived in many types of homes, in many locations and can only talk from experience.0 -
hi all. hope all okay and hugs to all.
feeling a bit down at the mo and been a bit low, probably because of starting councelling and have been thinking a lot about things that have happened in the past as well as people around me at the moment and what has and is going on at the moment between us.
need to get things sorted as i keep saying i will, but im kinda too scared to as when i stand/speak up for myself it difficult to see it through sometimes. especially as people seem to feel threatened when i do, even if it as simple as me watching what im eating/money/trying to be veggie and im at certain peoples houses/out with them i usually get them persuade me of the opposite.
had a blip in work with a colleague who did her usual talking down to me as if im a nut nut when i had customers get humpy because the cash machine wasnt working and wanted to speak to someone higher despite me explaining we only housing it.0 -
