haha are you sure you are not my twin?! I moved from my home town to Manchester about a year ago and thats when I think my problems began! Its bl00dy tough.

What exactly is it you are worried about? x
lol, I moved about 18 months ago, which was awful, then 2 months ago we've moved even further away. If I'm honest with myself I've been pretending I'm not depressed for even longer than that.

Right now I'm worrying that if I sign myself off work then can't go back after a week how much trouble I'll get in and how it would even work. x

I don't see how you can get into trouble for being signed off - your health is your wealth as they say. You may only need a couple of weeks like i did :) xx
  • The whole attendance proceedure thing where I work has me living in fear tbh... I will be on a warning if I do as I've had a few other days off this year.

Yeah I was like that, and still am to a certain extent. My work uses the Bradford score, and I am already well above my "allowance", but nothing has been said about it because they know I have not been taking the p1ss.

I am sure that your work would rather you took some productive time off instead of struggling in on a day to day basis and not being as productive as you can be. Also, from a health and safety point of view, you boss and your work have a duty of care to look after you and make sure you are ok. I don't know what industry you work in but does you work not have a HR dept you can speak to, or anything they can refer you to? Again, I was lucky in that my work have a counselling service that I could utilise.

I am sure that your doctor will also refer you. There are lots of charities that offer subsidised counselling so if you are on a budget (hey, aren't we all!) they offer help at a much reduced cost which is something to think about.

I think you just need reassurance that everything will be ok and that you are not bonkers :) If I could sent you a video of what I was like only a few short weeks ago and a video now to show how much I have improved..

Were you in work today? xxx

CCStar - those people clearly need to sort themselves out. Its easy for them to criticise behind the safety of a computer screen but I bet in 'real life' they would not behave in this manner - keep the chin up!

busylittlehoneybee - thats good that you slept :) personally speaking, things always seem just that little bit better for me if I have had a decent night sleep.

Some people I come across on forums do seem to resemble people who are on the Jeremy Kyle show.

I detest that show - full of underclass chavs that need shipping off to an island far away from here.

No doubt I shall be called a stuck up snob for stating my opinion, yet it is OK for chavs to be offensive and get upset by the same remarks they give out to others. They are such hypocrites, difficult to communicate with and very challenging to deal with, as they are so fixed in their defensive ways, refusing to see anything from anyone else's point of view.
    An average day in my life:hello: :eek::mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T :o :rotfl: :rotfl: :p :eek::mad: :beer:
I am no expert in property but have lived in many types of homes, in many locations and can only talk from experience.

I went to work, wasn't going to, but at 6.55 my husband woke up and saw I was still there in bed. He basically made me go to work (I'm meant to leave at 7 and impressively was out the door by 7.15!) which I was mad about at the time, but actually it wasn't too bad. And after a chinese and a nice bath I feel as near human as I ever do.

Doctor rang me today and asked me to make an appointment to see him, he obviously realised I ran out of there in a state yesterday! He is referring me somewhere for counselling, I'm waiting to hear about that.

Work do have doctors etc, but they only seem to deal with physical stuff. The best they can do is give me a helpline number.

Thank you for all your support :) x

They also seem to get the best treatment & care. Well at least in the area of the country I live in.

  • Hi everyone,
I've been having some relatively good days lately (yay!) but still don't deal with stress very well - my poor laptop nearly went out of the window amid floods of tears because I couldn't get it to do something properly!
I'm still worried about ds, I'm begining to think it's more than just depression and am trying to get him to go to the docs and ask about CFS.
He has his ESA medical tomorrow so I'm trying not to stress about that as I will have to keep ds calm.
    Let's hope this calmness prevails!
