Hi miro, hope your cat lasts until after xmas,if she is still purring she isn't in any distress or pain.Have you tried popping the food in the microwave for a couple of seconds?my vet told me cats are attracted to food by the smell and it brings it out, also lots of cats like sardines in tomatoe sauce.0 -
CCStar Very sorry to hear about your Mum (((HUGS))) how is she today? I hope she is being well looked after. I'm sure the Doctors and nurses will be available to talk through her concerns re: anaesthetic. Thinking of you.
joesaunt Welcome to the thread. It sounds like you've been through a lot recently so it's understandable that you feel quite low/depressed. It sounds like you've made a positive step to improve your situation (moving out) and are also looking to the future which is a good sign. Take care.
Miro Sorry to hear about your poorly cat. As Gem says purring is a good sign that she isn't in any pain.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

A HEALTH AND SAFETY XMAS
The Rocking Carol
Little Jesus, sweetly sleep, do not stir
We will lend a coat of fur
We will rock you, rock you, rock you
Fur is not appropriate wear for small infants, due to risk of allergy, and for ethical reasons. Faux fur, a quality cellular blanket or micro fleece material are suitable alternatives.
Only persons who have been subjected to a CRB check and have Enhanced Clearance will be permitted to rock baby Jesus, and must provide ID before entering stable area.
Jingle Bells
Dashing through the snow
In a one horse open sleigh
O'er the fields we go
Laughing all the way
A risk assessment must be submitted before an open sleigh is considered safe for members of the public to travel on. It should also be considered whether it is appropriate to use only one horse for such a venture, particularly if passengers are of larger proportions. Permission must be gained from landowners prior to entering their fields. To avoid offending those not participating in celebrations, laughter should be in moderation only, and not so loud as to cause a nuisance.
While Shepherds Watched
While shepherds watched their flocks by night
All seated on the ground
The angel of the Lord came down
And glory shone around
The Shepherds Union have complained that it breaks Health and Safety regulations to insist that flocks are watched without appropriate seating arrangements being provided. Therefore, benches, seating and orthopaedic chairs are now available. Shepherds have also requested that due to inclement weather conditions at this time of year, that they should watch their flocks via CCTV from shepherd observation huts with central heating.
The angel of the Lord is reminded that before shining his/her glory around, that s/he must ascertain that all shepherds have been issued with glasses cable of filtering out the harmful effects of UVA,UVB and the overwhelming effects of glory.
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
Rudolph the red nosed reindeer
Had a very shiny nose
And if you ever saw him
You would even say it glows
Under the Equal opportunities for All policy, it is inappropriate for person to make comment with regard to the ruddiness of any part of Mr R Reindeer. Furthermore, exclusion of Mr R Reindeer from the reindeer games will be considered discriminatory, and disciplinary action will be taken against any offender.
Little Donkey
Little donkey, little donkey on the dusty road
Got to keep on plodding onwards with your precious load
The RSPCA have issued strict guidelines with regard to how heavy a load a donkey of small stature is permitted to carry, and also frequency of feeding and rest breaks per 4 hour plodding period.
Due to increased risk of pollution from dusty road, Mary and Joseph are required to wear face masks to prevent inhalation of airborne particles. The donkey has expressed discomfort at being labelled 'little' and would prefer to be referred to as Mr Donkey. Future comment about Mr Donkey's height or lack thereof may be considered an infringement of his equine rights.
We Three kings
We three kings of Orient are
Bearing gifts we traverse afar
Field and fountain, moor and mountain
Following yonder star
Whilst the gift of gold is still considered acceptable, as it may be redeemed at a later date through organisations such as 'Cash for Gold' etc., gifts of frankincense and myrrh are not appropriate due to the risk of oils and fragrances causing allergic reactions. We suggest instead a donation to a worthy cause, or perhaps a 'Love2Shop' voucher would be acceptable.
We would not advise that the traversing kings rely on navigation by stars to reach their destination. We suggest the use of RAC Routefinder, for quickest route to save on fuel or that a SatNav device is attached to camel.
We advise the 3 kings to wear wraparound sunglasses as sandstorms are a known hazard. Face masks are also recommended to protect from dust dislodged by the regular movement of camels feet.
Away in a Manager
Away in a manager, no crib for a bed
Social Services have been notified, and a Case Conference is to be held early next week. :rotfl:
Wishing you all a very peaceful and joyous Christmas. May the New Year hold blessings and happinesses in store for you all. CB2X0 -
Here's a Christmas gift to all those who are in distress, despair, or feeling suicidal:
From next year, you will be able to call the Samaritans for as long as you need, from any phone eg a PAYG mobile absolutely free of charge :T
Ofcom decided that giving emotional support was a service of "extreme social value" and that cost should not be a barrier to anybody in need of that support.
The number will be 116 123.
The technology is being rolled out now to support this, and there will be an advertising campaign as it replaces the 08457 909090 (local call rate from a landline, costs much more from a mobile); it is likely both numbers will be run in parallel during the phase in period.
I will let you know as soon as the 116 123 number goes live. CB2X0 -

I'm worried as she's barely eating. I'll try the microwave trick and see if it helpsShe's been offered Sardines and she just nibbled. She seems to be licking juice and gravy only. She's a chubby cat, but lost a bit of weight. Not sure how long she will last. It's selfish, but between now and New Year it will be difficult to get a cremation and both flatmate and I to get there. The local company say they can only take one of us and neither of us have people we can really rely on enough to say yes they can take the other one. Plus vets are closed quite a few days
I'm in panic mode as I know we are going to lose her, but when she goes, I hope for it to be a day where it's as straight forward as possible. We aren't even properly doing Xmas this year, it's been such a bad year and flatmate is no support at all, yet i'm supposed to support and listen to her issues - mainly to do with reality TV stars she likes talking to her on facebook!

I don't think she is in any pain, but she's not as affectionate as she wasI'm totally lost. I keep losing people and animals and have no support - just the odd, 'poor you' Life sucks and I can't wait for it to be over

Thanks for making me feel so welcome, it good to know there are some lovely people in this world.
Miroslav, I had to have my bestest oldest friend put to sleep in October, I miss her dreadfully, but, it was time. I felt selfish keeping her alive in the end. I had her cremated and she is at home by the fire now. It was so hard in the last few weeks trying to get her to eat and keep it down and have her purr like a train at the same time. Enjoy Christmas with her.
Happy Christmas to you all
xxxx8 months to go till end of the IVA :j:rotfl::T0
