when i was under the mental health team, my first appointment, was just with the pychiatrist, but they had all the reports there, from my gp, crises team etc. where i live the help they offered me was very positive, and i was offered a place at a day centre, where initially i did structured organised activities, just to give my days some focus and routine, we also had classes on self help skills in anxiety etc, and also one to one counselling. i know differnt areas vary on the help offered. i currently just see my cpn, and she deals with my meds.

sounds like i will get the untalking pychiatrist then lol.
but yep the work i have seen from the cpn's have been great and the advice they give to my friends has also helped me alot from just being there and listening.
one of them has qulifications in everything, he is a cpn, has been a social worker outside of mental heatlh, was a magistrate and also had a really !!!! childhood to the point of moving away and changing his name. what a great bloke to be able to help others.
do i have to do day centres??? because at the mo i would not be able to face sitting around with other people, i hate it and this is one of my main problems, even baby clinics i stay away from and the health visitor comes to me..

    cheers

Its hard to say what programme you'd be on as to what they'd ask you to do, but there should be free will in everything and if groups are not for you, just mention it, its unlikely your care package would fail as your not able to do group work!

If mine is anything to go by, there are no groups at all, just one-to-ones where you drop in, wait an hour or so then someone comes to speak with you, could be for 5 minutes, could be for an hour. Its just how my team seem to work. But they do have a 40 odd inch plasma lcd thingy if anyone is in the mood for TV (unfortunately at that state of mind I couldn't care less!) It could be things are the polar opposite for you.

Maybe ask the others you know have been in the services in your area? It still may be different as teams can change rules in nano speeds, but may give you some indication. Try not to worry too much, the point is its a service meant to help you and support you, not to act as an obstacle course!

Just a quick question- does anyone have any advice on getting rid of a bitter taste that pills cn leave in your mouth?
I swallowed my sleeping pill whole with water but its left my mouth tasting really bitter- as if I'd chewed the pill for 20 minutes!! Its been like this for a few days now, a mimimal side effect (compared to how it leave me the next day!!) but would be a big favor if I could get rid of the nasty taste!

Not generally a problem for me as i pretty much have to chuck tablets in without them touching the sides (makes me gag otherwise) but a friend usually has some strong mints, or chewing gum. She says that normally helps (and give you minty fresh breath as a bonus!) :)

    Hi guys

When IS this weather going to go away?

Every day is rain, gloom and wind. Even our cat is getting tetchy with it.

We want to go out for the day or even for a walk by the beach but the weather is trecherous. It's the sort of extreme weather you see in the States. I feel so sorry for the people in Cockermouth.
    An average day in my life:hello: :eek::mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T :o :rotfl: :rotfl: :p :eek::mad: :beer:
I am no expert in property but have lived in many types of homes, in many locations and can only talk from experience.

I know someone who has trouble swallowing tablets and she was advised to take them with yoghurt. This could help if you take your tablets with a big spoonful of yoghurt instead of water. You may find that, as it hasn't dissolved in your mouth before you swallow, then you won't get that after taste. Worth a try anyway.

See, I've been on one sort of tablet or another fora while! Swallowing pills isn't an issue- and these are so tiny anyway. I don't even need to swallow them with water!

But for some reason, I get a bitter after taste- even though they've not come into contact with about 99% of my mouth- its very odd! It lasts about 6 hours after taking the tablet, never had anything like that happen to me before, tried hot chocolate, tried diet lemonade- even tried yakult! Can't seem to override the taste! Maybe I should be grateful- could be the ideal dieting tool!!:o
