You'd been near enough to the centre of town to go shpping but not so close that you never get any peace.
There's also Bradford-upon-avon which is a very pretty smaller town but you can get to Bath city centre in about 30 minutes by train so you aren't cut off from other towns. I've been there on a few trips and it is very picturesque with good transport links. http://wikitravel.org/en/Bradford-upon-Avon There's a lovely picture on this page and for a list of shops in Bath so you know the variety you'll have there's this http://wikitravel.org/en/Bath_(England) which has a very extensive list of all the places to eat out, bars, shops etc.
Those are my two favourites in the area I have to say, and I'd love to live in either as they have everything of London but in a nicer surrounding.
We drove to Trowbridge last week, and it was rather dull and deadly. The places in the country nearer to London felt to have more life but it is easy to stray into chavvy areas.
We intend to actually goto Bath via Bradford on Avon, Widcombe and Newbridge when the weather clears. less busy and both over our illness.

I was up until after 4am this morning, simply couldn't sleep as I felt really anxious, almost every time I closed my eyes I had this whole weird thing going on at my DH was dying and it was really freaking me out.
I've got dermatitis come back on my scalp due to stress and worry, but I'm trying to use medicated shampoos which is not having any affect, so the more stressed I felt last night the more my head itched.

hi LM, how are you doing after the crash. thought of you yesterday, when we witnessed a car crash, a van ran straight into the car just behind of me, a second earlier it would have been us in that spot. we pulled over, and helped them out of the car, and rang the police on my mobile.

Heya Shaz.
I'm okay. Still anxious but my ankle is better and I'm not so sore, now.
Sam might be getting a hire car but we're finding it difficult because he's under 21 and a lot of companies only give them to those over 21.
It's good that you stopped to help.I know a lot of people who wouldn't.
When we had the accident, I think more people stopped to gawk than to help.
There was this wonderful lady who helped us and she rang the police and ambulance straight away and stayed with us until the ambulance had arrived. An off duty policeman stopped to make sure we were okay too.
A few other people just stopped and stared. :rolleyes:2019 Wins
