 Hugs Summer moon I know exactly what you mean. I'm really mad with my DH today. He's been a right pain in the butt.
I've been feeling really ill today and told DH when he phoned this morning that I was going back to bed soon. So just as I was drifting off to sleep he phoned to ask me to measure the oven! I ignored the phone, but as soon as it stopped ringing he rang it again so I got up and completely lost my temper with him. I don't usually get angry - I get annoyed for 5 mins but then I calm down but this time I was so angry! He knew he wanted to buy a new oven trayso why not measure before he left? I lay in bed fuming for ages instead of getting the sleep I needed! He's just so disorganized and it's always me that has to bail him out. Yesterday he left the truck keys in the car so he couldn't go to work. I couldn't get them back to him because he only let me know 15 mins before my meeting so he lost the afternoon. He's always doing things like that.
He came home mid afternoon, so I thought great, he's going to be here to help as promised and as desperately needed. But no, he went out and has only just got home. He immediately sat down even tho I said I was hungry and what's for dinner as we are leaving in an hour and a half. He said I don't know I don't think we have anything - he's only been shopping 3 times today (which is why I asked - I assumed he had got something to eat!) so I've told him to fry bacon, cook pasta and grate cheese over hte top. It's quick and if I hadn't told him what to cook he would have cooked nothing.
I hope he will help me to wash my hair after dinner. I had hoped he would have done that this afternoon so we didn't have to rush.
Sorry to rant. I've had lots of sleep but still have headache and pain in shoulder and feel very grumpy so maybe that's why DH has irritated me so much today!
ETA: Am going out soon hopefully so hope you all have a good evening. Sorry not been for my walk today. Will try to go tomorrow"Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."

Hiya
Hope you're all ok. Massive hugs SummerMoon - they don't have drive you mad at times!!!
Today's list is completed. Dogs walked. Work worked. Washing washed. Presents checked for DD's birthday (we'll be away so need to take stuff with us). Think that's about it.
Tomorrow = massive tidy up as I like to leave the place tidy when we go away.
Hugs to you all xx0 -
Back from swimming, just going to sort out dinner, not sure I have achieved much off my list, I need to see if there are any little quick jobs on there! The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

Mudbath you always seem to finish your lists before else, how on earth do you manage this? I always imagine you have an immaculate/spotless house
This had me laughing so much...you should see this place. Whilst it's 100% better than it was it will never be perfect. Two children, a husband, two dogs and a cat see to that! I get it all done and give the rest of the family their jobs but somehow it gets trashed again. Ahh well!
Soappie - I wanted to buy it and take it to customer services but I only buy things for cash at the moment and I didn't have enough to pay the full price. On the plus side....it's paid for in full!! :rotfl:
Piggers - no niceness for you but a really horrid, smelly, skanky, dried up, revolting mouldy hug for you! {mudbath runs for the hills!}
On the flying front - off to get the clothes of the washing line! xx0 -
Summermoon or was it FlyladyFlower? I see your names as similar pictures in side my ageing head! ~ I've been there on the studying front with my eldest, and ds2 is showing signs of same behaviour.....having tried wheedling, persuading, reasoning etc etc with ds1, I am coming to the conclusion that sometimes you just have to let them fail and take the consequences....sorry not to be more helpful, I find this solution hard as I'm a fixer and a solver by nature, but I'm wondering if it might be the way for us.
It was me LilySue, thank you. My DD learned the hard way like that. To be fair to her she had Dyslexia so was always putting off writing, but tried hard in everything else. She missed out on better exam results because she did extra work on the practical stuff instead of writing up about what she had already done - all well and good, but they need to know how you achieved what you have done as well as seeing the finished product, so she lost marks and because of that didn't get into fashion design at college like she wanted. she had to do another year to get the passes she needed, then she gave up and went to work, now at 19, she has learned and is going back to college in September (she has already been accepted) but hard and expensive lesson to learn as now she is 19, she will have to pay £1300 for the privilege. She is working as a CSW at the hospital (Clinical Support Worker or what we used to call an Auxiliary Nurse) so she can work it around her studies and still earn while she learns which is good. Even with this lesson, my DS still doesn't seem to understand.
It's doubly hard as both myself and Hubby are 'grafters' as my Nan used to say, we've always worked hard for what we want, so really difficult for me to understand him, but as everyone keeps telling me, he will learn...
Sorry to ramble there. Toots, thanks again for the lovely PM...

Rose i'm so sorry to hear your OH is giving you grief - hope you have a lvoely time out this evening and he behaves better tomorrow.
Summermoon - Hope your DP starts behaving himself too
Valli - you are mean!! (but funny) I'm so glad I wasn't in uni for april fools.
Flower - i remember the arguments I gave mum and dad when I was a bit younger. I think every teenager thinks they have the worst deal ever in the history of the world. I'm sure everything will work out for you and your DS.

Carol - Well - having had a morning of - 'there are rats tails on our shoulders' 'April Fool' and 'I've got a headache' - 'April Fool'....
etc etc (cos 7/8 year olds don't really know HOW to do it...I could not resist)
Flower - I am MIA because I am so busy with work stuff...that's all - nothing interesting.
Have realised - unfortunately - that I can lose hours on here without realising and it's just silly - I haven't hours to lose....and I am first in line for filling the thread up with rubbish...so I am prioritising.
Well tea has been eaten - whoopsied frozen fish (that's not a fish that's a whale said DS - then ATE it all) whoopsied spuds and carrots and Instant Parsley Sauce! Both kids love this and I finally found it in sainsbury's fairly near Mummyof5 where I pop on a Monday (their petrol is cheaper than in Valliland because they are near Steel City I suppose - incidentally Greenbee thanks for the heads up on the fuel tax rise - filled up there Monday). Now off to wash up...

To everyone who has a DP, DH or OH who doesn't lift a finger or five around the house - WHY DO THEY THINK IT IS A WOMAN'S JOB OR YOUR JOB?
Since when did we have to work, run a house and/or look after children or a combination of one or three? Is it ingrained in their thinking?
I had one like this who let me do all the shopping, cleaning, washing, cooking and then complained when I didn't pay for half of the skip hire despite paying for everything else including his mortgage. I left (not happily believe me I would have stayed). Now I am happier, we get on much better and he knows how hard it is to fit everything in when you work full time. I gave up on the housework during my depressed state when I left and cooking.
Thanks to MSE I refound myself and beliefs and FLYING. Now I keep the house clean for me and I do it for me and if anyone else ever lived with me including him I would expect them to do their share regardless of what other activities they had planned. Then the weekend is free to do what you like, how they should be.
