Ticklemouse wrote:how's Johanne getting on with her train journeys to work?
I've just spoken to our Mum and she said that Johanne seems to be getting on alright, of course a daily commute from Liverpool to Chester is not exactly ideal, but she's getting there and on time. Only had one problem on Tuesday when there were no trains and she had to get a bus instead, wouldn't have been so bad if it had been announced on the "Traffic & Travel" and she did have yesterday off but had LOADS of errands to run.
I've had a very slow start to my day but at least it was ol'style - I spent nearly an hour standing outside the post office talking to a mum of one of DD's friends:rotfl: I just got in (at 10am after posting 6 ebay parcels) when my Mum called so I spent nearly half an hour on the phone to her  YOu'd think I had nothing better to do
:rotfl: Just warming up with a mug of hot cordial and then I need to set to on some jobs. I think clearing some of the binbags out of our bedroom had better be a priority today, unfortunately only 3 of them are rubbish

Morning all, thank you SO MUCH for all your birthday wishes, it was so lovely to log on and see it :grouphug: big hugs for you all.
Well I am thinking that today will not be very OS all (please forgive me  ) not that we actually have that much to spend really. Well OH is planning on taking me for dinner at Frankie and Bennys and then to the pictures to see Walk the Line, we are going to the big mulitplex which we have only been to once but now OH is driving we are making the trip. I am worried that the food won't be good, I don't really like fast food but they have nice pizzas in there and cocktails (oh yeah and they teach you Italian whilst you have a wee wee, OH will love that considering he is Italina anyways!!!!)
I have had my pressies now, OH bought me a JML Super Slicer to help me chop all my fruit and veg (bless him, he is always thinking of me, i'm not being sarcastis I really am pleased with it :j ), he also got me a set of note cards, a Brian Jonestown massacre CD and a sub to Marie Clare, the only mag I regularly read so that has saved me loads! I am so pleased with my pressies!! I also got money from Grandad, OH's nan and uncle, MIL and FIL and my parents, I will put it in the mortgage fund I swear!!! Had a lovely letter from a friend in Spain, it arrived last week but I have saved it for today.
I think we are going to have a walk later and sandwiches in the car in a local forest, then off to visit my niece who is 6 today then out this evening for dinner and a movie.
Have a lovely day everyone and thanks again for the birthday wishes  ,

Got lecturel ater hopefully a trip to Ikea for DD bedding, she's decided to go all grown up and have a red and cream room, so out with the girly pinks. DS still can't decide what colour he wants his bedroom, Thought being an evertonian blue would be his clour of choice but no! ( god its started to snow agian  ). So until he decides weve got an old quilt cover as curtians as his window in this house is a lot bigger than the last.
Breakfast; weetabix

DH and DD1 are both suffering from another cold - just seems to be the same one lingering, it comes back with a vengance every few days. Both packed off to work and school suitably dosed up.
No work for me today - having a really lazy start - an hour long soak didn't leave me feeling any more enerjetic either!
Brekkie - cereal
Lunch HM ham rolls
Dinner - Jacket spuds and sausages.

Happy its Thursday, feeling quite energetic today - but should get on with some work!!!!
Looking forward to the weekend - want to try out the banana cake recipe from here (along with a few others - but preferably of the healthy variety!!).

Dishes are in the DW and DD has had a late cooked breakfast.
Oldest DD has just phoned and left a message to say that the bus service she uses every day to get her to work is being discontinued at the end of April.
The only thing I can think of is that she walks 4 miles to get another bus to get her into work and then her dad picks her up at night but that is not ideal.
Wouls suggest she applies for a transfer to Leeds but she will probably "kick off" if I do.
Why does she never seem to give me good news?
Making home made soup in slow cooker overnight and dried peas are now soaking.
Came on here to cheer myself up as am really down now."This site is addictive!"

Hi Yall, I'm sorry I havn't read any posts today cos I've been up since the crack and running around like a headless chuck. One of my oldest friends passed away at the weekend and I was expecting the funeral to be early next week but got a phone call late last night to say it was a 1pm this afternoon. Thankfully I always keep my suit and a dress shirt ready for no-notice occasions and I've managed to get most of my jobs done. It will be nice to get it behind me before going to the coast tomorrow rather than having it hanging over me. I don't think I have any lessons to read or anything so I'm gonna change now and toast my old pal with a whisky before setting out. Proper funeral weather here in the emids today - cold and misserable.

Morning :hello:
Well it was still the morning when I started typing
Having a frustrating day at work chasing around after senior managers who think they're too important and/or busy to give me vital information on time
Roll on tonight. My singing teacher, who is currently singing in the chorus for Rigoletto at English National Opera, has landed me some freebie tickets for this evening's show so that I can take one of the girls from work to see her first opera
HAPPY BIRTHDAY PURPLEGIRLUK!!!!
jo - congrats on your excellent review! Those things are a joke in my office - you get your targets set at the start of the year, nobody ever gets around to doing an interim review, so at the end of the year your entire job description's changed and there's nothing to measure against - which means that the manager then has no choice but to say "yeah you were fine"
elona - isn't it possible for your DD to get her own transport? Car, moped, bike? I know your area isn't exactly the easiest to get to/around by public transport (when I was at York uni my flatmate had a p/t job at Tadcaster brewery - luckily she had a car).
Posh - your pizza sounds YUMMY!!!!
Catch you later
