    Morning all,

    Apple-mint - what a treat a organic chicken.

Well not much planned for today as DH is still ill. DD and DS are all better which is good.

I need to par boil the other half of the sack of potates that i did not get round to doing yesturday. I also did two big sausepans of mashed potatoe to freeze.

Need to do some washing and sort out all the pre-school stuff that i need to drop back tomorrow.

I do not know what i have instore for me today but i have been banned from going into the back hall.

    Morning all

Have not been on much for three orfour days so am a little out of date with what is going on in everyones lives -so ill just say happy moms day to all moms, happy sunday anyway to all non moms... and i hope everyone is well and happy.

Busy day for me today. Laid onion sets yesterday and have more room than i thought so i am off to the garden center for red/pink shallots today. Will also pick up some more rat poison - the blighters have munched a whole tub of it. Mind you i think its worked as they didnt touch it yesterday and i havent seen one of the varmints for days.

Need to give a tumble dryer i sold on ebay a good clean too - someone from lancashire is driving down to pick it up.

Have decided to buy an under counter freezer to go in its place. I had set my heart on one of those antique wood looking kitchen trollies - but more freezer space is definately more necessary as we have a very large garden and do not want to waste the beans, peas, tomatoes, etc ---- speaking of which -- can tomatoes and onions be frozen?

So - cheapest freezer with a top energy rating i can find is at iceland - have to call them today too.

Washing is in - rhubarb and strawberry crumble is ready to top and popin oven for lunch time.

Breakfast - toast and pork dripping.
Lunch - lamb chops, cabbage, carrots, roasties and rhubarb/strawberry crumble w cream.
    Dinner - cheese sandwich.

have a lovely day everyone. Im going to have another cup of tea and mooch my way through all the posts i have missed.

:) Warm wishes to all Mums this Mothers Day :)
Boys brought me a breakfast tray in bed this morning at 0630hrs. Cute, huh! :):shhh: Except, I've been up and down all night :o :silenced: A bowl of All Bran with sultanas, a side plate with some yogurt and chopped fresh fruit + a mug of coffee :rotfl: Well presented too!

I get to cook the dinner ;) which is meant to be shoulder of lamb (from the half lamb I bought a few weeks ago).

D10yo bought me a crystal angel holding a dove and D11yo has bought me a gold chain and have proudly told me how they have been in their room planning it for weeks  They really are at such a great age.

Don't think we're going to make it to church this morning after all so I'm hoping for a lazy-ish day enjoying my family :D

apple_mint - oops! Sorry :o I shall do some housekeeping in my PM's :rotfl:

PP - hope the Bratz cake doesn't go off before the party in another couple of weeks.

    Take care  :):):)

  • Thanks for the concern Queenie-date on cake was 14th April and the party is before that, so fingers crossed, it will be OK. If it goes off, will take back and complain but theyve always been OK in the past and TBH-havent got much choice as I may be in hospital for next 2 weeks.

DD made me pancakes and were delish and have had the bath with bubbles and candles.

I too have been tossing & turning since 4am (BST) & feel not quite with it this morning. I have backache, which is probably caused by over doing it on the treadmill in the gym yesterday. I don't like to come on here & moan, but at the minute there's no-one else here for me to moan to! Hopefully a :coffee: will perk me up a bit. Definately no gym today.
The kitchen floor needs a good mopping & I had planned a trip into town (free parking on Sundays) for a new duvet cover. My old favourite (100% cotton but a bug ger to iron) has fallen apart & we're onto poly cotton which just isn't the same! Funny what you get used to isn't it?
Dinner is: Roast chicken, roast spuds, roast parsnips, cauli-cheese, HM yorkshires, HM stuffing, carrot/swede mash & gravy. Got a rhubarb crumble for afters, but not sure we'll need it!

Hi Yall, enjoy your special day all Mothers, Mothers to be, Grannies, Aunties and the like.

I awoke at 4am so got up and did a couple of hours paid2clicks before the MATHLETTS blundered about determined to make breakfast for BOTH MrsMATH and I. They always make a fuss of me on Mother's Day as well as Father's Day because Dad's are completely ignored by the schools on Father's Day, no hand made card or owt despite a number of Dad's raising their kidz single handed at the school! We that's my mini rant at inequality over - normal service can now resume. LOL

So we got showered with coffee and croissants in bed and Mrs MATH treated to hand-made cards, and hand-made gifts totalling coaster with a MATHLETTS photo on, a decorated pot some compost and some wild flower seeds and a little box with two chewitts in :rotfl: Yup I think inspiration was waining by this stage. LOL. She also got a selection of Liz Earle bath stuff from the MATHLETTS and a bunch of flowers with a stuffed ladybug doll on a stick in it from moi.

Two Mothers and Fathers (ours, not complete strangers. LOL) are descending for lunch after church. The Sunday School give out little buttonhole posies to all the ladies during the service which is a bit of a tradition at our Church hence my conservatory looks like Interflora Distribution Depot at the mo. LOL

Gotta go, two dozen chicken thight to marinate.

    Have a godd day

    Luv MATHx

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mums,

We have our's the first sunday in May. Isn't that weird. I thought it was all the same. We have Father's Day the first Sunday in Sept. Is your's different too? I've had a busy sunday today. Cleaned the floors this morning and caught up with my ironing.29_1_4.gif This afternoon I cooked a few meals for this week's menu's as I am trying to get some packing in after I come home from work. It will be nice to know I some of my main meals sorted. Still don't know for sure yet, but there's nothing wrong with positive thinking :D now is there.

I also did some mending. I had a few ripped sheets so I cut them down the middle and fixed them up. They were doubles but will be ok now for singles. I have a couple of other things to mend but that's for another day. Hope you all have a lovely day.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

MATH - we were told at our school (DS and DD go to a Cof E school) that Mothering Sunday is recognised as it is a Christian date, and thats why it is celebrated. Fathers day (and now Grandparents day in September) were commercial dates, and thats why they dont recognise those.
