    Hello everyone

I'm a right old lazy bones, still sitting in my jimmies, still haven't done a single thing in the house, haven't put on the washing machine, haven't started the dishwasher, haven't started my essay which is due in on Monday, haven't returned the furniture to its rightful spots after the decorating, haven't washed the car, and haven't been to the recyling place (which closes at 4.00 pm today). So that's my to do list sorted out then! I have however fed my kitties and have played with them for about two hours. I've also returned my "B" key to the keyboard, I had flicked it off to get a crumb underneath but couldn't work out how to put it back on properly. I've figured it out at long last.

PawPurrs...many many congratulations for losing all that weight, for not giving up, for being so focussed on your goal and for getting there! You must be feeling the most healthy and beautiful you've felt for a long time. And I am sure you look healthy and beautiful too.

Suppose I should go and shower and get my kit on, and go and do something.

    See you later.

PP sounds like you are getting very organised regarding your possible hospital stay. Hope all goes well, some hospitals seem to be getting the Internet for patients now. If yours is one then you can still come and join in on MSE! Really hope all goes well for you as you surely deserve it.

Snowy Owl, what a nice chilled day, good to have a relax sometimes.

I had to deliver DD to a friend as they were going shopping in Exeter today, trying to find jeans for her very lean frame, an absolute nightmare.

Spent the morning doing sums and pricing handknitted scarves I have made. DH did Eggy Bread for lunch and I am about to make Chelsea Buns with the dough that is now ready.

I keep prodding the chicken that I should have got out to defrost last night. It is just about going to be alright in time I think. I have a real problem remembering to get things out of the freezer. Anyway, doing a roast today as no time tomorrow.

You all sound so wonderfully orderly :A I am so hoping that it will rub off on me if I spend enough time on MSE :D

Have a super day tomorrow all Mums. Hope you get spoilt rotten

    Hi all

I've returned from my shopping trip avec wally trolley (fully laden with meat, books from library and some scrummy bacon, HM sausages and a ham shank from a different butchers on the market) Even went to the fish shop - but it was for those little blighters that live in the boys' aquariums (aquaria? :D)

I have to report that Mr TM is dying :( It's what I had earlier this week - you know, where i had to get on with everything and play with the boys cos they wanted me not daddy etc etc. Mr TM got up at lunchtime, had some ready brek and went back to bed again. He woke when we got back at 4.30 and is now lying in bed moaning and groaning loud enough so that I know he's ill :rotfl: I'm glad I'm going babysitting tonight :D

So, still have to bring yet more laundry upstairs, haven't done any of the jobs I wanted to do as I was the one who went out and I still need to unpack the car and make tea. Oh, best run along and bring the sickly patient a cupof warm milk - he requested it 20 mins ago :D

Have a good evening everyone

Went to Newcastle today to pick up DD.

DH has spent all afternoon on the computer so I have just managed to look in here now.

Had home made quiche for tea and everyone seems happy.

    Bet they forget Mothers Day!

I would settle for a cup of tea in bed before I have to go downstairs and bake breakfast muffins!

So here's the scenario ... you're cool, calm and composed, the queen of your kitchen. The mince and dumplings are cooking away in the SC, the veg is steaming gently on the hob, plates are keeping warm and a plum cobbler is chuckling in the oven.

Then the oldest (and most unreliable in the bottom department) of your two dogs arrives and wants to go out. This is not a problem. As you open the back door for him, because there's no show without Punch, the second (youngest) dog shows up to join in the fun. You let them both out and return to your ministrations of the dinner - checking the dumplings (which are not quite ready), checking the veg (which has another couple of minutes to go) and testing the Cobbler (which is very nearly ready).

You go to the kitchen window to check on the hounds - and they're playing round-and-round-the-washing-line at top speed in all the mud. Lay down some old towels and call them in. Both come in at top speed and are through the kitchen into the utility/computer room in the blink of an eye. At which point, you notice that somebody is bleeding. A lot.

Paw check at top speed - and its the mad youngest one. He's cut a pad and because he's all excited, its bleeding like mad. Soaks straight through the kitchen roll wad you've brought with you and drips onto the carpet (which is old and manky, but didn't need red pawprints!). You call DH to come and take over the dinner (completely forgetting, in the meantime, to tell him that certain parts of the dinner aren't quite ready).

You have to let the injured pooch go, while you run to get 1st aid equipment. So he takes this as an invitation to run around following you .. through the utility room to the bathroom (at least three times) and round and round every available bit of floor in the place. You have the presence of mind to switch to damage limitation and grab the bin and the dog food tub and use them to block the stairs to the pale green carpet, then gently apprehend the cause of the trouble and get going with the veterinary treatment.

In the meantime, DH has dished up an inedible dinner.:confused:
Bless 'em, both DS and DH try valiantly to eat their inedible dinner while you stand on your head and bandage the dog's paw, whilst explaining to DH that in the heat of the moment, you forgot to pass on the salient part of the message about the bl##dy dinner not being ready yet.

Having released the leaking pooch, you return to mop the kitchen floor and put your dinner in the dog's bowl. Next, you dish up the pudding - which thankfully is gorgeous and then spend and hour and a half cleaning the carpets and mopping the bathroom floor.

So ladies and gentlemen, if ever this happens to you - remember to :

    1. Give clear instructions to your OH;
    2. Get a child to hold the dog still;
    3. Use cold water with a dash of washing soda, plus a microfibre cloth, to clean the blood from the carpets.

Did I ever tell you, just how much I LOVE Microfibre cloths????? I'm going for a lie down in a darkened room now.
:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:

hi everyone, hope you are all well. i've been so busy this week i've had no time to read or post, so loads of catching up to do.

had a pretty stressful day, we were car booting. last time we went we queued from 6 till 7.45 to get in as they had changed the times. so this week we arrived at 8 to find it had changed again and the only space left was if you dropped your stuff off and took the car back outside. we are normally there in plenty of time and don't get stressed but today we had to quickly empty the car to take it back out. we were surrounded by people going through our stuff and i was doing my best to make sure nothing got pinched as we had quite a lot of high value items. wish i'd told them to come back as it turns out we think a bag of toiletries was pinched, at least it wasn't a camcorder or something else expensive. just feeling really p'd off. we still did ok but not as much as normal - mainly due to our spot really being a thoroughfare and not much space for browsers. better luck next time!!!!!

dinner tonight is either steak or beef wellington if we have the energy.

Morning everyone :hello: Morning all you Mums out there

Well the clocks have moved forward and I've been awake since 3am old time and 4am new time. My body clock is a bit out of kilter. I was incredibly tired yesterday and went to bed at 8pm. No doubt I'll be falling asleep mid afternoon.

Yesterday was a truely OS day for OH and myself. I batch made celery soup and vegetable soup for the freezer. This will cover our lunches the next week. OH racked the peach wine and bottled a cherry wine (12). The latter will be ready in August and the former in May. He's going to start a new batch of wine today. We are new to this and are following recipes from a book we got off a car boot sale.

Today I will be doing roast chicken - a free range organic chicken. Not had a free range chicken before, so I'm looking forward to this. This will be a rubber chicken ... stretched to make more meals. So its to be chicken curry tomorrow night. The carcuss will be turned into stock.

I don't know what the family have in store for me for mothers day ... probably a cup of tea and breakfast in bed. So I'll have to go back to bed for that :rotfl::rotfl:

Have a lovely OS day everyone!

PS Queenie I've tried to send you a PM to say a big thank you for the recipe links but your inbox is full. And no, I'm not offended :D
Enjoying an MSE OS life :D
  • Happy Mothers Day!

A good nights sleep here last night so am pleased.

DD laid my Mothers Day bits out before she went to bed last night and must admit I was abit of a blubbering mess an hr ago. It was a lovely card and she had wrote inside "To the best mummy in the world. Please dont get so upset when you cant do things other mums do-you love me lots and thats more than most children get! I love you more than anything-even with the wheels":rotfl: Cheeky little moo...isnt she!! Im having a bath drawn apparently and dinner (roast)cooked too:confused:plus I had a lovely bouquet. Kids are funny arent they!

WM is on with only load for the day and bin is now empty. DW will be on after breakie and toilet is cleaned. Rest of house is still sparkly and clean.

We picked DD up from BIL's yesterday and went over to Morrisons and Wilkinsons quickly. Neither had an electric wheelchair so OH had to push me:rolleyes:. Anyway got quite a few bargains and finally bought some stardrops:j after all the raving on-here thought I would give it a go. Got DD's Bratz cake and a few other bits for her party in a couple of weeks, so am happy about that. Bought nephew an iron as he's moving out next week for £5 and 2 lovely canvas prints for the kitchen reduced to £1 each. Didnt spend much, but have acquired alot of items that were reduced or on BOGOF.

Breakie: Pancakes, blueberries and yogurt with honey
Lunch: Lamb Hotpot (HM small frozen portions)
Dinner:Chicken, stuffing, yorkies, roasties, carrots, parsnips, peas and gravy

Will catch up later. Have a lovely day.

    PP
    xx
