Well that's their problem not yours. They should have a contingency plan to stay open if people are off sick. Supply teachers or whatever. And if they are short staffed in the first place they should have though of this ages ago.
Sending hugs. :grouphug:0 -
Put it in writing , pet.
If you are quite sure - then send a letter in explaining that you had no choice but to take time off as your son was ill and "highly infectious!"
You obviously did not want to put fellow workers and their children at risk so were staying away from work for the next week.
BUT - When you saw the doctor he or she told you that your state of health at the moment was such that you had to give up work.
Rather than soldier on and risk letting anyone down in future as you realise that staffing is a problem, you are taking the first opportunity to let them know the situation so that they can make plans etc.
You have very much enjoyed being there and will miss them etc etc. (Grovelling bit in case you need a reference in the future)
You are sure they will agree with you that the last thing they want is for you to have to let them down in the future because of your health problem, so that this is best for everybody.
Put yourself first - it sounds as if the people in the playground who "blanked" you are!!!!"This site is addictive!"

DS is still ill so i took him to the Dr who said he has a very bad bout of the flu.
I was not able to go into work again thats a weeks now. They could not open today as the ratio was to low without me in.
I now feel really bad but i can not help my son feeling ill ...
.. I was blanked by 2 of my co workers.
Just goes to show, times haven't moved on for women in the workplace as much as we're led to believe! Years ago now, my eldest son came down with mumps; phoned in to explain and was told that if I didn't turn up for work the next day, I would lose my job. I phoned a friend who offered to take him to her place for a few days. Went back to work the next day and the day after that again, the Committee Member I had spoken to previously asked how my son was? I replied I didn't know because I hadn't seen him; he was staying with a friend 20 miles away. She had the audacity to look  by say: "Children should be with their Mother when they are ill!":wall: :wall:
FunkyFairy - work will come and go throughout your life; there is only *one* of your son. Keep that in perspective and clear out any guilt towards your time off and don't attach too much importance on the actions of your colleagues; they are colleagues, not familyHope you find the peace of mind you search for in this dilema and the courage within yourself to make the decision that is best for you. ((hugs))

Best of luck.
Update on today's cooking:
Jelly Fluff: Forgot to measure how much evap. was left in the tin to guage how much fluid for the jelly component  so overcame that by refilling the can with water and pouring out roughly how much had been used by the boysjiggled the weight of it in my hand until it *felt* right and guestimated
It looks FABULOUS!!! Lime Jelly Fluff now in the fridge
Pork and Apple Meatloaf: It made up quite a quantity with my dob of this and dash of thatSo I've cooked it in a casserole dish :rotfl: Looks and smells wonderful (I confess to tasting a bit and it tastes a bit like cumberland sausages (?) )

FunkyFairy, It is you bosses job to worry about staffing levels not yours so don't give it a second thought. It is not your fault they are not running their business correctly and I speak as someone who once employed a team of over thirty women all with their various 'women's troubles'.:D As for your co-workers give them a big:p from me, they are not worth knowing IMO.
If your doc is recomending you resign can you get him to put you on the sick or summat? If you just leave you will be out of pocket - just a thought. Big (((HUGS))) coming through the OS ether!
I onyl 'popped' on to post a pic of the tea that DS age5 has made for me and the three MATHLETTS. He calls it 'crusty crabs' LOL. Have a look and marval at my outstanding kidz. They get it all from moi - natch;)

I've got home to a letter from Tesco in reply to my complaint about one of their checkout staff. I'm not very impressed about it as it does not relate to my complaint. On the form that I filled out, I distinctly gave the number of the employee (as it was on the bottom of the receipt) and this letter refers to "should we identify the member of staff concerned"......................... In addition (on a primary teacher note), there is not a complex sentence in sight in the letter - it means that in a SATS exam they'd get a level 3. How geeky is that? :rotfl:Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -

Funky Fairy, hope you sort something out with your job,who needs that kind of grief?? :grouphug:0 -
funky fairy,
god it makes my blood boil to read what has happened!!
i agree with quennie, looks like things have'nt moved on much. i also have kept ds2 of school today and not gone on placement. my attitude is that he is all that matters above everything.
if your 2 co-workers can't see that, you don't want to be working with people like that who are so obviously very nasty people!! you are really better off in this world without having to work alongside such rifraf!!!
hope ds gets better soon :grouphug:'If you judge people, you have no time to love them'
