Halight - HOW'S THE HEAD?! lol
Tiredmum ((((((hugs)))))). Deep breathing & sod the lot of them..... Just focus on you for a little while. Then trash some of their stuff!!!!!!

    Off topic warning!!!

DonnyG - that was exactly the comment made by several people at the taskforce meeting yesterday (among loads of other stuff!). I am lucky in that typing is what I've always done for a living so far (and still do till I finish Uni) so I can produce stuff fairly quickly but so much of the paperwork is duplicated as well, it seems to be a case of producing it just for the sake of it. One visit (for a hospital discharge plan) can result in a minimum 4 forms - and more often than not, up to 7 or 8. And it means that you have to minimise the amount of time you spend on a visit as you have to get the paperwork done & meet targets....
Yesterday felt quite positive - there are 10 of these meetings in total, so we will see what support social workers end up getting.

I know that me & all my student colleagues are training because we are passionate about working with people & helping support them to make positive changes in their lives - and social work isn't just about child protection, we're all over the place, lol!!! We certainly aren't doing it because we thought one day "I know, let's find a job where we can make someone's life a misery...". It does feel like an uphill struggle with the reputation the job has, which is a terrible shame because all the time that goes on, the staffing crisis won't improve, which will mean tragedies are more likely to happen due to immense & unmanageable workloads...

Anyhow, off my soapbox too now..... lol

    Ok, update on Mr Potential,

After my crazily busy (but very productive) day, I went to see his play - 'East' which was written by Steven Berkoff in case anybody wants to know - and he was amazing! Not even biased, he was hilarious, everybody in it had a stand-out performance, but obviously I was concentrating on him a fair bit

Went to the SU bar after for a few drinks, which turned into us being kicked out when they closed at 11.30 :rotfl: big group of us, so lots of eyes on us!! Anyway towards the end of the night he said "So, when am I going to take you out for a drink?"

    :j:j:j:j:j:j:j

Turns out I wasn't sure he liked me, he didn't think I liked him like that, and one of our friends had a bit of a word with him and flat out told him to ask me out because I'm a big scaredy cat! Anyway he walked me home along the river :o then had a cup of tea at mine before leaving at about 2am. Talking for ages about all kinds of things, lots of kissing :kisses2: he's lovely! Of course I'm busy for the next week which is just PERFECT , but that's the way it goes I guess. Anyway today I'm grinning like a Cheshire cat, after the all scary stuff earlier this week it's ending on a high.

Plan for today - lectures (Shakespeare today), tidy room, figure out what can go in the freezer and what has to be chucked out (off to France on Sunday), then off to Bournemouth for a birthday party. Not sure how that one's going to go, my ex will be there and I haven't seen him for quite a while.

Right, got to get ready for uni, have a great day everyone, (((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))) to anybody who needs one, and HI:hello: to all the new people - this thread is lovely!!

    xx

    I've been Money Tipped!
Donny gal - I completely agree. I used to be a legal secretary and a secretary's job is not to type but to properly enable her (or his!) principal to do their job to the best of their ability. That means - typing, filing, phone management, appointments, cups of coffee (yes - though some secretaries thought it beneath them, but sometimes after a tough time a cup of coffee was just what was needed). The difference in productivity of a solicitor with a good secretary and a bad secretary is huge - and no secretary at all is ridiculous. In other offices just getting someone in to do the filing made vast differences to productivity.

OS :o I need to deep clean the kitchen because my new sink unit is definitely being fitted tomorrow. Or at the very latest on Sunday. But I feel so snotty and achy, so it is going to be swish and swipe in stages. Little bear is, however, feeling better. I was planning to dash to Matalan early but I don't think I'll make it :( Also weather is foul.

Tired mum - hugs and lots of them.

Wmf - hope your furry friend feels better soon.

    Hugs to all.

Tired mum, I know how you feel, I'm in the middle off a 'FRO fortnight' at the mo :DFRO = F Right Off :rotfl:

I suggest you do the same - you must only include things you WANT to do, if it includes housework that's ok, as long as you actually want to do it. I didn't plan any housework but decided to do things as I felt like doing them. And the pets and garden are looked after every day too. The house is actually looking better than it has done for ages, because I've put things exactly where I want them - I'm here more than anyone else, so it should suit me :D I don't go to their place of work and tell them how to organise things, do I? No. Right then :p:D

    Every day
    - Body lotion after shower. I don't mean the usual 'quick, slap it on', I mean put it on properly and massage it in.
    - Dry my hair properly instead of just sticking it up in a pony tail.
    - Rub hand cream in for 5 minutes, paying extra attention to fingertips and nails which always seem to dry out
    Day one
    - Write myself a two week plan.
    - Put a pamper box together.
    - Pamper my feet with a Body Shop file-a-foot and body butter.
    Day two
    - Sort out my strawberries.
    - Cut my hair.
    Day three
    - Epilate legs.
    Day four
    - I was lazy and didn't do anything :D
    Day five
    - Pamper my feet.
    - File and paint toenails.

Well that's it so far cos I'm on day five now. I'm so much more relaxed now, I think part of it is due to the lack of caffeine but mostly it's because I've been putting me first.

Oh and seriously considering putting a lock on our bedroom door. The teen trus will leave all their washing in a heap on their bedroom floors, then pinch our socks because they have no clean ones  And they pinch quick sprays of our perfume/aftershave

    Morning all!

Great news about my nephew, he appears to have something, but thank god not meningitis. They don't know what is wrong, but have given him antibiotics, and he is now eating and crying normally. They will have to stay in hosp for the next few days whilst he finishes the course, which is always a disappointment, but at least everything is okay now. Many many thanks for all of your thoughts and well wishes and prayers xx

I'm off on Monday for some more tests, whoop woo! I've decided that I can't keep worrying about it, well at least until I really know what's wrong anyway, then I can really panic lol! Many thanks to everyone for all their thoughts about me as well xx

Well it's wet and miserable here today, matches my mood yesterday! Today is the first anniversary of a very old friend's death in Afghanistan last year, think that's why I've felt so awful, knowing it was coming, but today I'm just trying to remember all the good times, and it's putting all my other whinges into perspective!

Well now that I've depressed everyone - sorry - onto the OS stuff for today! Will be s&s the kitchen, throwing vast amounts of towels in the wash, hoovering and throwing out all the leftover bits from dd3's collage making last night, they've spread all over the house!

Lunch for the kids is whatever the school have to offer, forgot to turn the bm on! Have rolls in the freezer but have only just remembered that fact, doh! I hope that I will be able to eat some lunch today, this not eating is getting irritating!

Dinner will be fahitas I think! It's nice when we all get in the kitchen together and prepare the meal, one doing the chilli, one doing the fahitas, one cooking them, one doing refried beans and someone doing salad and other bits! Sure the kids will want pud, so will try and get that done later. I've noticed that having a pud stops them reappearing late in the evening hunting for snacks!

Other than that I have to pop to the bank, pay a few bills, search for a new bed for ds, and a friend is coming over later to put up a blind for me, he has promised to bring choc muffins that his little one baked for me, so hopefully that'll kick start my appetite!

Hugs to all who need them xx

Morning all, Late on here due to being distracted by ironing.
MORAG, Thanks for the link, just read y/days thread, but I made the meatloaf lastnight. I made it up as I went along. I lined a loaf tin with streaky bacon, put a layer of pork I had minced up then a layer of Sage & onion stuffing (mixed with veg stock) a layer of sweated spinich another layer of stuffing another layer of pork mince then wrapped the bacon over and cooked for 50mns. Haven't tried it yet but guess what's for dinner. Will take some to DD2 & SiL2b for their dinner, I'm having Charlotte this afternoon yippee:D she is 18 days old now.

DD1 didn't come over as she had an interview for a new job. She's a Teacher but has struggled to find work so has had to resort to doing Supply. In Bath there are about 30 Teachers applying for every teaching post going.

New tennents left a phone message saying they couldn't get a good reception on their tv so they went and bought a new ariel and booster so I owe them £89   the ariel has worked fine for all previous tennents. Grrrrrr.

    MSAVER, Hope DNephew is ok.

  • I am sooooo tired today. Didn't get in until after 11pm and was still buzzing from the mighty win at hockey. Body is a wreck today though.

So OS today is swishing and swiping round the flat before rugby tonight. Toastie for lunch.:A

It is still super windy here and freezing but with bright sun. Snow is forecast for weekend so it will be thermals again for hockey. Got a haircut booked for 9am tomorrow; it so needs it, not had a cut since end of November:eek:
