Graham White Soliciters Over Apcoa Parking Fines

All it means is that they have found another way to harass you, and nothing to do with having a "case" against you!0
-
Does this mean that they think they actually have a case against me? I would be grateful for any comments.
Oh, and if the advice given about Debt Collection Agencies holds true, then you can demand they only communicate with you in writing. Just say something along the lines of "I have no wish to discuss any matter over the telephone with you or anyone else associated with you. From now on all communication with me must be in writing. If you ignore this request you will be reported to all the relevant authorities, and any future phone calls may be recorded as evidence of harrassment."
Bonus points if you sign off with "You are the weakest link, goodbye!"Never underestimate the power of the techno-geek...0 -
Telephone numbers are not to difficult to find. They telephone you to try and intimidate you. Simple answer is to simply hang up. If it gets persistent you could send them a letter telling them to stop ringing your number but don't acknowledge the reason they are calling. If you can cope just ignore them. No doubt you would have debit/credit card statements showing payments made! So they have no case, but seeing they don't do court there is little to fear anyway!0

You could always file a nuisance phone call report with BT. Tell them that you are getting "upsetting and distressing" calls!!0

I was given a parking ticket at 8.15pm whilst displaying my disabled badge, parked on a pavement that is usually used by visiters of the Masonic Hall, which was closed at this time. I was in a hire car at the time and the hire company Enterprise has given Roxburghe my details. I have ignored all letters up to now, but yesterday i recieved a letter from Graham White Solicitors stating that they will take me to court if i don't pay the £140 parking ticket and put £207ish pounds on for their fees and court costs.
Can anyone advise me of what to do next because i am starting to panic. Thanks0 -
There's a thread over on the Pepipoo forums indicating that Sobell is actually taking someone to court over an unpaid Excel parking notice. This is making me feel a bit uncomfortable.
Whilst I'm confident I would win in court (I'm the registered keeper, not necessarily the driver, the owed amounts seem a bit random, what is the basis for APCOA's "appeals" process etc etc) I really don't have the time or money to be hiring solicitors.
Any thoughts?0 -

I believe Sobell is being investigated by the SRA. He has probably made this unprecedented move to make himself look good, hoping for an easy win by default. If Pepipoo are on the case he has no chance, assuming he doesn't chicken out before the hearing of course.0 -

Hiring a Solicitor - why? If they did anything it would be a small claim which is just you, them, and a small-claim judge deciding if they have a case. They don't, they would lose.
And do you know how many PPCs use the Roxburghe/Graham White letter chain? Most of the ones on our top thread use them! Loads of people are sent the computerised, standard letters every single day, they are IMHO the most common debt collector mentioned on the internet about fake PCNs.
Now we hear that there's a possible single case with GW chancing their arm in Court, if we are to believe the thread in question. One attempt made, possibly, among thousands of other 'cases' where the registered keepers are just getting the usual letter-chains. Why on earth would that supposed single Court attempt worry anyone?
How likely do you think you are to be singled out? If you are, tell them I was driving.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I don't know if you have read the POC on this thread on Pepipoo? http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showtopic=58529
The claim is laughable, also Graham White has a reputation for not attending defended claims. In other matters. I wouldn't let this case worry you!0 -
I'm hoping Graham White Solicitors take me to court because then I will be able to laugh in their face!
I had a parking ticket at the hospital where I work. Totally deserved the ticket. I parked in a visitors bay (I am staff) and did not pay. As I deserved the ticket, I paid the £12 fine online.
A few months later, I got a letter from Roxeburghe Debt Collectors stating that I owed £70+ for non payment of the parking fine. I wrote back, with a copy of the email that I had from Vinci Parking showing that I did indeed pay the fine. They chose to ignore this letter and sent me another letter saying that they would refer this matter onto Graham White solicitors.
I then had a threatening letter from Graham White solicitors and I again sent them a copy of my email showing that I did indeed pay the fine, but the threatening letters keep coming. I have given up trying to prove that I have paid the fine and really hope they take me to court.0
