  • Hi There just wondering if you could offer some advice,

Notice they pass it to a supposed Debt collector- Are these "debt collectors " likely to search you credit file.

working for a finance co- if we see a debt collector search on someones credit profile we view that as detrometal.

My girlfriends got a few fines all with roxourough apcoa and im wondering if they are likely to affect her credit status at all..

Nope. I used to work in finance as well, for many years.

These fake tickets DO NOT affect your credit rating in any way at all. Think of them as like a phishing email, a begging letter. Just file them and forget about them.

But if it's a retail site, then complain in writing, in the strongest terms, to the on site retailer every single time about allowing a third party to issue such threats against a paying customer. Get angry about this, it is NOT OK for Supermarkets etc. to think this is good business practice and we need to get the PPCs kicked out!

Oh, and your gf has not got any 'fines' at all. PPCs have no power to fine anyone.

    Evening all,

I parked in a station car park which is free but as with a lot of days, it was full. So, like others before me have, I parked on the curb inside the car park and did not obstruct anyone. I have done this 10 times before with no problem.

When I got back to my car today, there was an £80 fine sitting there from our friends APCOA. It was for :

'03 - Parked in Restricted Area'

It has the usual stuff about summons in a county court etc and was issued by Parking Attendant : FGWC

I presume I just need to ignore all correspondance from them plus all the solicitors?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Yes, just ignore and it's not a "fine".

Tis indeed correct ignore everything! Except of course a sealed stamped county court summons. However you have more chance of winning the Euro millions tomorrow then getting one of them!:p

  • I have followed these threads on APCOA, Graham White and Roxburghe with great interest and have been reassured by the advice given to just ignore them. I received two tickets from them in October and November last year at two separate stations. Both times I had bought a ticket over the phone via Ringo Car Parks. On the first occasion, due to Ringo's credit card facility being faulty it took me a while to get the payment cleared and in the meantime -unbeknownst to me - a ticket was issued. But I did buy a ticket for the car park, it wasn't my fault that there was a delay with Ringo's system, and felt it was unfair. Fortunately I did not enter into any correspondence with APCOA. The second ticket was a blatant scam, I had paid over the phone as soon as I arrived in the car park and returned to find a ticket stuck to the screen. I have, as you have advised, ignored all correspondence from White and Roxburghe. However, Roxburghe have now got my phone number [I wonder where from - DVLA?] and are calling me 'about a financial matter'. Obviously I just hang up but this is getting quite intimidating. Does this mean that they think they actually have a case against me? I would be grateful for any comments.
