Thought I'd give my feedback....
Like many others I went with MPX because they had the best price. All went well until I received an email from them saying the screen was severely scratched and as such they were deducting £38 from the original quote (the phone was immaculate and had a screen protector on). I wrote them an email expressing my displeasure at this. The next day I phoned up and spoke to a guy called Mike (I think), who told me it was already being dealt with and I would be getting the full amount which I did the next day.
So basically I got what I wanted but had to kick up a fuss to do so. Make of that what you will...0 -
I sent in 2 phones in 1 jiffy bag to Mobile Phone Exchange, both Nokia's.
Sent via Special Delivery on a Monday, checked on Royal Mail website for tracking and saw it delivered on the Tuesday. Had an email from MPX telling me that both my phones had been fully tested and payment agreed as quoted on the Wednesday.
The email showed that I would receive the payment via BACS and it would clear by Monday next week, checked my account and found the money in and cleared already.
Could not recommend these guys enough, very happy with the service I was provided:j0 -

Received requested freepost jiffy bag in a few days but decided to send using Special Delivery as it was a high value phone (£110) in v good condition.
Phone received and checked the day after sending and the amount originally stated was confirmed by email. Email stated that the amount would be credited to the M&S Giftcard previously received after three working days. Checked the Giftcard balance today and the money was there so no complaints!0 -
I wish I had read reviews about this company myself before i sent them my phone!
Phone sent off, working and in good order. Recieved an email a week later saying they could only pay me HALF THE PRICE because the screen had 'too many scratches on it'. I rang them up to get the phone sent back so I could send it to a better company and was told I would have to pay £10 to have it returned! I said no so I was offered a mere £3 increase on the original dropped figure!
I had to settle for this, but the phone call cost me well into a fiver.
For the difference in prices, use a company with a better reputation!0 -
Hey everyone
Just thought I would give my feedback this happened to me a little while ago.
I sent a phone off to mobile phone xchange valued at £35 had no problems got the money very promptly. I then recommended them to my OH who sent off a higher valued phone they quoted £85 I sent it off recorded it was in perfect working order was not actually that old. They paid us £25 they said it did not work properly and the phone was cracked it definitely wasnt when I sent it. I emailed to ask them to return but they said I would be charged for this and I figured it wasnt worth it as if the screen wasnt cracked when they had it, it definitely would be when I received it. Anyway it turned out that mobile phone xchange accidently paid me £25 twice, I didnt notice this as we were in the process of moving house and had other things on. A little while later I returned to the old house to collect post and had a letter from mobile phone xchange stating if I did not return the money they would give me a CCJ
I returned the money but I would never deal with this company again very unprofessional and would advise others to avoid Im sure there are plenty of other reputable mobile phone buyers.Moved in 12/09 Mortgage 126K0 -
I was rather apprehensive about any mobile phone recycling firm especially after reading these posts and after having a legitimate cash back by 'Sell old Mobile' on Quidco rejected. However I was quoted £65 for my Samsung Jet by mobile phone exchange, posted it 18 Dec, price confirmed by email 30 Dec. and in my bank account 31 Dec. all despite the snow disruption and holiday period. My Quidco cash back was tracked 18 Dec. and received by Quidco on Jan 6th. So for me, excellent service. The moving finger, having writ, moved on.0

Fed up with my Samsung Soul sitting unused (but in very good condition) decided to have a look at this site before Christmas. This company was at that time (but not today I see) the best price of £18 cash or £21 store gift card. I opted for Debenhams gift card. Prepaid envelope arrived in 2 days along with uncredited gift card.
On the suggestion of local postie, used the Freepost sticker but paid 74p for 'signed for delivery' rather than the expensive Special Delivery option. Finally despatched phone last Thurs, had an email Fri am saying phone arrived safe and Gift card would be credited by Tues 11th Jan. Just popped into Debenhams to see if actually worked and treated myself to some sale goodies with the proceeds.
Faultless service from my experience - hopefully they've cleaned up their act from others bad experience now Martin is promoting these services at the moment.0 -
Hi
My First Post, doing so as a disgruntled customer.
I recently sent my phone into Mobile Phone Xchange,
I was quoted initially £35 before I sent in my Tocco Lite. It took a week for them to e-mail to say they had received it but as it was badly scratched (it wasn't badly scratched at all, it was scratched through day to day wear) could only offer me £17. Obviously I did not want to accept this I could have sold it for more on E-Bay or with another recycle company so I replied to this effect and asked if they can return the phone to me.
Three days later I got an e-mail to say the very best offer they can make is £25 and otherwise if I want them to return the phone I have to pay a £10 administration charge.
I have accepted the £25.
All in all it is a very disappointing service as I could have got more for my phone from other companies but as Mobile Phone Xchange quoted the most initially this is why I sent it to them. I have sent phones to Environ and Fonebank in the past and had no problems. I will NOT be sending a phone there again and really wish I had of read this forum before I sent in this one!

It seems to me that this is a classic professional looking scam site.
They'll treat 10% of their customers perfectly in order to draw more in and then give out exactly the same excuses to the unlucky ones to lose out on their money.
I'm pretty sure they can be reported to Trading Standards - just contact the highest ranked person you can find an email to, and I think its disgusting that they are charging £10 to get YOUR phone back with a high risk they'll damage it beforehand to "prove" they are right.
I love the comment about "phones magically healing themselves" its funny that isnt it. :rotfl:0
