The Sun £20 Holidays. Holiday Park Review thread

Hi ,
I want to go to Brittany with the Sun Holidays, I was thinking of getting an overnight ferry from either Plymouth or Portsmouth, which would be £160 or £90 for the basic Ferry through the Sun, but I don't know how much extra a Cabin would be. Does anyone here know?
From memory, it's not too expensive on a day ferry, about £35 I think each way, but more on an overnight one. BTW, the overnight ferries as part of the Sun deals are very difficult to get so bank on having to do the day one (we did Plymouth-Roscoff last year, not too bad but you do end up spending the whole day travelling - we went to the Vendee and got there about midnight). They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -
Has anyone stayed at any of the parks in Dorset? Thanks0

Was it mobile homes or bungalows and was there any heating, tv etc.
Thinking about booking for October Half Term and travelling on the ferry from Newcastle to Amsterdam.
Anyone been in October who could tell me what the weather was like?
Thanks in advance
We went to Duinrell in October (for 4 nights) in 2008. The accomodation is fine - perfectly adequate. They are all basically static mobile homes, with heating but can't remember if they had TVs (but looking at their website even the basic accomodation type has a TV now)
The weather was lovely when we went but then we may have just got lucky.
Can't recommend Duinrell more highly - free entry to the theme park, and the aquapark whilst you're there. The nearby beach at Wassenaar is also very good.
In fact we are thinking of returning this October.0 -
ooooh now you're making me think of Holland too!
hmmm! Think my sons would love the theme park and water park0 -
Twice I've been to Porthcawl Trecco Bay and taken the dogs and our caravan was [STRIKE]grotty[/STRIKE] 'well used' by others.
Porthcawl itself is lovely, am going to try another park next time with the dogs. I know we pay extra for the privilege of taking them, but the caravans have seen better days. The last one had a sock and a pair of pants left by the previous owner under the bed and 27p. Naturally being very MSE I took the money but left the pants and sock.Be happy, it's the greatest wealth0 -
Its funny how people have different experiences, we've been to Trecco bay twice. The first was with a group of friends, second just us and my parents. We upgraded to a caravan with central heating as it was April. Both were nice caravans and really liked Trecco Bay. Porthcawl is a bit of a dump but we went for walks on the beach and visited the Welsh museum of life instead.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0
