Haven Devon Cliffs - Love this site (handy for us 50 miles away), Havens showcase site and always well invested in. Massive so loads of entertainment if you like that sort of thing, our children are young enough to love it. Big indoor/outdoor pool with slides etc, but very busy and quite noisy (they have a really nice and dead quiet pool for owners if you can find a way of getting in there!). Nice Spa if you fancy a treat. Beach is nice, although sea-weedy if the tides aren't with you. Have always had a lovely caravan, often been upgraded which is always a bonus. Would highly recommend, but perhaps not if you like a quiet life.
East Devon is beautiful and there is so much to do around Exmouth. I would recommend a day at Bicton for young children and you can go there with Tesco clubcard deals. Plenty of other beaches around if you fancy a change.

Parkdean Challaborough bay - Stayed here in May. Very pleased with our break, a nice contrast to Haven Devon Cliffs as the small site was quiet and peaceful. Had an upgraded caravan which was clean and nice, we appreciated the extra room. We couldn't have got much closer to the entertainment and beach, both within 20m. Really handy to have the beach so close. Nice staff but limited facilities. We had the childrens entertainer to ourselves when we went in the day and didn't go to the evening entertainment 'til the last night, which I regretted as our 2 year old loved it. Nice pool, again, very quiet. Will definately go back.
We went to Pennywell Farm and our 2 year old has been having imaginary trips there ever since.

Parkdean Mullion, Cornwall - Weren't keen on this one. The caravan was pokey and quite grubby, just not that new I guess. We had our travel cot in the sitting room as no other space. The site was small with not a lot going on. The pool was ok. No beach on site, but lots of lovely coast nearby. A really nice part of cornwall to investigate, but we won't be staying at Mullion again.

We went to Mullion 3 years ago, not as a sun break, but because we had to go to a funeral in cornwall, we paid over £600 for an 8 berth and it was awful. Dirty and falling to bits - we complained and got moved to a chalet eventually, also given free meals to compensate. But the food was nasty and the bar was grubby so I would not go back here even if it was free!
  • Never used these vouchers so does anybody know, when picking dates can they all be around the same time as we are stuck to school holidays.
Ie, one park different dates or same dates at different parks ?
    Thanks

    Hi ,
I want to go to Brittany with the Sun Holidays, I was thinking of getting an overnight ferry from either Plymouth or Portsmouth, which would be £160 or £90 for the basic Ferry through the Sun, but I don't know how much extra a Cabin would be. Does anyone here know?
    Joovce, Joovce you want me to spell, it's a J, V, C.

Don't know sorry, don't do ferries lol!

we are thinking of doing Brittany this time (we usually stay @ one of the sites near Paris and do Disney !)
what site are you looking at booking?

Think we will just use Tesco deals for the Eurotunnel again, and then drive to Brittany

Blimey thats a long drive, I also live in South Wales, so thats a 4 hour drive to the tunnel then an 300+ mile drive to Brittany. I've got young kids so I coldnt hack that.
We are thinking of going to one of the sites in Carnac. If you go on the ferry (Plymouth to Roscoff) then its a 2.5 hour drive to Plymouth then another 2.5 hour drive to Carnac.
    Cheers.

Do you mean using your Tesco points to pay for Eurotunnel or do you mean Tesco offer deals for the Eurotunnel? Would like to know about this, thanks.

You exchange points into deals :)
Mr D, we drive up to Folkestone the night before and stay over in a Premier Inn,then get an early morning Eurotunnel crossing.
Our kids are 14 and 8 so its fine, also hubby does a lot of driving with work so doesn't mind the drive, and he likes driving in France.
We may even stop over for 1 night on the way to a site,as we have family in France

Next year I want to do a few weeks in South of France, again driving (but with a few 1 night stop overs lol! )
  • Anyone who has been to Duinrell, could you tell me what the accomodation was like?

Was it mobile homes or bungalows and was there any heating, tv etc.

Thinking about booking for October Half Term and travelling on the ferry from Newcastle to Amsterdam.

Anyone been in October who could tell me what the weather was like?

    Thanks in advance
