  • Many thanks Shaun - I'll hold my breath for now.
Just to bring up to speed
    a. claim pending with First Direct. They offered £803 agin £947. Said OK (hadn't read up on int rates at the time). However they haven't fulfilled their part and I've faxed giving them 'til end of business tomorrow after which I submit N1s (which WILL include compound).
    b. initial overtures made to RBS for around £1500 and that does include compound under reciprocity.
    c. Now it's the turn of RBSCC;CITI,Barclaycard,Halifax and Monument.
    I'll be in touch.

  • HI Can anyone help please????

I send the first letter off to my credit card company to find out how much I had paid in charges in the last 6 years (using one of the templates) I included £10 cheque, they sent back to me just 2 years worth and stated that I would have to pay an addional £3 per statement as the records were no longer on computer but on microfilm. This is over £140 just so I can find out how much i have been charged - If anyone can tell me what to do next I would be very gratefull, Thanks,

    Sue

It doesn't matter if they are written on slate with a piece of chalk, they should still send them to you.

Go to http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/ . Start a thread under your bank (lilolil v whoever) and ask there. Also check the bank templates folder as there is a letter there for your situation.

    Don't give up!

I am about to take my claim against First Direct to the next level, & need someone to point me in the direction of Moneyclaim please. I've seen the helpful 'script', & the Interest spreadsheet, but i need to know how to instigate a moneyclaim.

    Please help if you can.

files held on microfiche are not covered under the dpa, however you should have asked for a list of charges in your letter which are covered.
so you need to write to them explaining this, you will find a template here
  • I followed Martin's advice to the letter and wrote to the Bank of Scotland.
Three weeks later they credited my account with the full £120 which I had disputed.
Well worth writing to the Banks.

me and my husband have had several bank accounts with the same bank and also 2 credit cards. Can we Send the letter in the library (consumer action group) and enclose just 1 £10 for the Data Protection Act disclosure request, or would we have to include £10 for each account?
  • not sure about that one but www.!!!!!!.uk one you can as long as all the accounts are in joint names or at least one name shows on all accounts. then send it in that name
