The banks in Northern Ireland have already been referred to General Consumer Council for NI for their treatment of their customers. However in saying this, i have been hit by two charges of £25 each within the last several months although i was £100 overdrawn at one stage (unauthorised overdraft). I will proceed with the advice and report back forthwith!Phil:beer::j
Speak when you are angry; and make the best speech you'll ever regret: Anger makes dull men witty, but it keeps them poor: Labels are for jars, not people (but it's hard sometimes;))0 -
I just thought id post a link to my thread on a different site https://www.consumeractiongroup.com to show that there is (fingers crossed) light at the end of a very long tunnel. http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/royal-bank-scotland-bank/12075-west-rbs.html0

Lloyds actually charged me £2 for getting money out in Egypt. Having read the articles on claiming excess charges back I'm going to claim all the charges back from them.
I'm also going to change my account. Does anyone have any information about HSBC student accounts?0 -
I have read through all the information on this site & through the forum with great interest, we have been banking with Intelligent finance, at one time we had credit card, loan & current account & have paid huge amounts in charges (thanks to hubbies spending  ) I have today requested statements for the term of our account, about 5 years worth I think.
All the fees must total over £1500, but i'll have to wait until I get the statements to find out how much exactly.
I have just applied online for an Alliance & leicester account, we wanted to change anyway to a bank where you could do cash banking through a branch, so we're prepared if they decide to close our account.
I'll keep you all posted & have to add GOD I LOVE THIS SITE! lol

I am about to ask Barclays for my charges back but does anyone know whether I could ask for the charges back from my mortgage account at Royal Bank of Scotland which is still open or is that too dangerous? and is it possible to get charges back from an account that is now closed?
Cheers0 -
Hi,
I wrote to Barclays asking for all my charges back and they have just replied offering £400. This is not close to the amount they have taken. If I refuse, am I likely to win more? Has anybody else had dealings with barclays and won?0 -
