One way or another, they have to give you the information and can only charge you a maximum of £10.
Remind them that they have to provide you with this information under the data protection act.2012 wins approx £11,000 including 5k to spend on a holiday :j0 -

I wrote to Barclays asking for all my charges back and they have just replied offering £400. This is not close to the amount they have taken. If I refuse, am I likely to win more? Has anybody else had dealings with barclays and won?
write to them saying that you accept their offer of £400 but will be pursuing the rest of the amount they owe you via the courts. Tell them they have 7 days to reasses their offer.
They will either say no - so you apply to court.
Or
they will offer you another amount - which is still not the full amount so you apply to court.
Either way, you will probably have to apply to court but by doing it this way, the courts would be able to see that you have given the bank enough chances to sort it out.2012 wins approx £11,000 including 5k to spend on a holiday :j0 -

Cheers
I have claimed back charges from a previous mortgage. Not sure how risky it would be to try on a current morgage. I doubt they could actually close it down but I'm not 100% sure.
You can get charges back from a closed account (I've done that too). As per open accounts, you can only go back 6 years from now though so it would depend when you closed it etc.2012 wins approx £11,000 including 5k to spend on a holiday :j0 -

You should accept the £1000 as partial payment and inform them you will continue to claim the remaining amount.0 -

I have a form which they have asked me to sign to accept the £1000 that they offer, do I sign this and send letter back together mentioning that I am still going to claim for the remaining amount?
Thanks0 -

i had the same scenario with FD last week. i sent a letter explaining that i accepted the offer in part payment & would continue to pursue the remainder of my claim. i didn't sign & return the offer slip.

Hi
Have you been credited the amount which they offered you yet ? they said that they would credit my account within 7 days, would be nice to have that money paid in and then get the rest from them after.0 -

No, at least not as far as i know! I expect that accepting your part offer (literally!) now wouldn't be prejudicial.
I have another issue which is that i would prefer a cheque anyway as that account is now closed.

I have just sent off my letter today refusing thier first offer, so I will update and sit tight for a response which will hopefully be the full asking amount;)0
