  • Anyway, has anyone had much luck with Lloyds TSB, from what I've seen they've been quite difficult. Can anyone shed any light on how long the process takes as well?

    Thanks

Yes. 100% success rate. They're not any harder then others. And like all the others, they cave.

How long is a piece of string? Depending on whatever the criteria of the day is, from 10 days to 5 months... Average, I suppose, would be 10 weeks or so. But there is no fast rule...

With what? Reclaiming charges? Yes. But mostly, it is about helping yourself (a bit like th bank has been doing for years, lol.)

Click on my sig, register there, and start reading the FAQs, and the step-by-step. Then read around the forum relating to the bank you're pursuing. Then go for it.

Sorry if this has already been answered - but am too impatient to read through all 55 pages to see - does anyone know how to claim money back in Scotland. Moneyclaim is only for people with addresses in England and Wales.

    Sheriff's court.

Hello, this might be a silly question. On the moneyclaim form do I select the box to say that my claim will include issues under the Human Rights Act 1988?

    No.

(But yes to "reserve the right to claim interest under s69 of the county court act")

  • Hi all,
Please can someone help me. I'm in the process of claming bank charges from Alliance and Leicester, have sent them the 14 day letter requesting a refund, they replied with the usual 'our charges are fair, blah, blah , blah'. The 14 days are now up and I'm ready to file my online claim. The problem is I've miscaculated what they owe, they infact owe me another £50. Do i have to send them another 14 day letter requesting the new amount or do i just go ahead with my online claim.

    Hi guys!

When claiming back bank charges, can you only claim back things for like bounced cheques and direct debits, or can you claim back for when you've gone over your overdraught and they've charged you £30 a time too?

Princessa - you most certainly can claim for going over your overdraft.

other princess-type-name-person - Nope, don't worry about it (depending on the size of your claim - maybe if you're claiming for a very small amount and now you've doubled it) Just stick it on their and then add your 8% on top of the lot (using the spreadsheet).
And if, you know, your history...
  • Don't worry about it. Just start totting up your charges. ;-)

(PS: They're full of !!!!!!. If a bank employee had gone into your account to personally say yes or no to a payment going through, as it would be showing on the notes relating to your account, it would very much count as being part of your personal data. But as I said, don't worry about it.)

Thank you for your advice. I thought that I could go no further with this when I received Yorkshire Banks letter.
Can I please ask you another question (sorry)! When I have totted everything up what do I do then? It doesn't seem to mention - or am I blind??

    Many thanx
    LW
