Firstly 'What a site' !!!:j
Can someone tell me if a 'Paid referral fee charge of £30.00 a time when my bank pays an item which results in my account going overdrawn by more than £500.00 above my agreed limit and will also be charged if they pay any further items which increase my unauthorised borrowing by £1.00 or more' can be deemed as unfair bank charges ???
So in a nutshell every time im over my overdraft limit by more than £500 the bank clobbers me £30.00 a time for any direct debits paid.............
Thanks in advance:beer:

Hi,
I sent the inital 'subject access request' to Nationwide for an account that is now closed, and after 40 days and £10 I have just received a large 60 page booklet in the post from them.
But it contains no information about my account!! It has a covering letter saying 'here is the information you requested', then a section called 'personal loan computer information' which contains some printouts about a personal loan I applied for and got rejected in 2005.
Next there is a section called 'data protection (computer)' which just contains copies of the letters I have sent them and their replies, with a photocpy of the cheque.
The next section is a massive load of bumf called 'guide to your account information' which is just a glossary explaining what every single term means.
Finally, the 'data protection register - entry details' section shows "in very general terms" all the reasons that Nationwide process data for, from 'staff administration' to 'provision of financial services'.
The binder contains no reference to my current account, no list of charges applied, no statements!
I am extremely annoyed by this...but what can I do next? I'm not sure if they can use the excuse that I didn't supply an account number in my original letter (because the account was closed a couple of years ago).
However my wording was "Please supply me with a complete list of transactions and charges relating to my bank account" and I don't think they can pass off a loan application as being a bank account!
Please advise me what to do!!0 -
Go straight to the Information Commissioner and report them for not complying with your wishes.0

thanks,
'Information Commissioner' - is that within Nationwide or an external (government?) body?
Should I also write to Nationwide to complain?0 -
They are an external regulatory body. And if, you know, your history...0

You could write to Nationwide, but I don't for one minute imagine that it was done by accident, so it probably won't get you very far.0

after sending my first letter to hsbc they replied telling me to repay my overdraft within 14 days as they had 'reviewed' my account and i could no longer have an overdraft. bullying gits. i have now sent my letter before action to inform them of my willingness to go to the small claims court. Will they close my account now? has anyone else experienced this? any advice? cheers porcavacca0

I just had a letter through from Capital One today - telling me that they will repay some of my late payment/over limit charges. Based on the last 6 years, I had charges of £228 - they've offered me a goodwill payment of £72. Anyone had similar dealings? Think this is a good offer or should I go for more!
Now - time to get onto Bank of Scotland!0 -
Doesn't sound very good on will to me
Reclaim the lot - it's all your money, you just need to be strong enough to get it back.0
