    Afternoon all,

Finished work for the day, thank goodness - just as busy a day as yest - seems to be a sickness bug sweeping through the staff, even more off work today. Ah well tomorrow is another day!

    Well my big news is that I have gone and got myself a breadmaker:j :j :j :j :j :j

I have really wanted one and ended up buying one from local paper - still in box with instructions etc (unwanted present). I now have to figure out how to use it. I really want to have a go straight away but as I have quite alot of bread in at the moment and absolutely no room in freezer I think I should probably wait until some of this gets used up first. Might have a go on thursday when it is my day off.

Was to be sweet and sour chicken for tea but OH has rung and said that he has only just had his lunch as he has been so busy at work, so will probably have that tomorrow instead and just get something easy for today instead (hmmmm..... wonders here if I could use some of that bread up quicker?!?!?!)

Big welcome to shazba and paigexstewart you will soon be as addicted as we are - I really look forward to reading about everyones lives on here.

Celyn hope you have a wonderful trip - keep us updated!!

Love and hugs to all who need or want them.

    xxx

    Hi everyone

Well, OH rang his DM Sunday evening and completely out of the blue asked her where exactly her cancer was. Subtlety isn't one of his strong points bless him. So she's told him what I wanted to know, and it's in her stomach and lung. Doc's have told her its incurable and all they can do is "manage" it for her. Not sure what that means exactly but she's coping very well and is living out on her & fil canal boat which is currently somewhere up near Nantwich. She doesn't want to spend her last days (however many of them there might be) in their flat looking out onto the housing estate and quite frankly I don't blame her at all.

I've booked mine and mum's place on Race For Life this year, what with my MIL cancer and my nan passed away at the beginning of the year a week after she was told she had cancer AND my aunt has a brain tumour (her 3rd in 15 years!) I figured it was a good thing to do.

Well, DS2 has just phoned me to say his friend isn't coming 4 t today but its Friday instead...phew gives me a chance to work out what to have for tea then.

    well, better go ttfn every1
    Banana Lovers
Buy your bananas in bunches of 5 on Sunday. Then arrange them in order of ripeness and write a day of the week on each banana in felt pen, Monday on the ripest, Friday on the greenest to save time making those decisions on a hectic weekday morning

    Hi al,
Well DD1 didn't come here today as she had to teach, one of the Teachers texted her so she had to work, at least it will help her finances having a bit more work.
Got on with raking out the joints in the stone walls in the outbuilding. Had enough after 3hrs so came in to do some cooking. Found some packs of beef skirt in the freezer so that's slowely cooking to go with the other lot. Plan to make the beef and onion plate pie tomorrow.

I have saved £31.50 a mth as I changed DH's phone tariff. He was paying £42.50 for zillions of minutes, which was fine when he ran his buisness, but now he's retired he hardly uses it. I threatened he would leave Voda untill they gave in and offered a better price. Smug face alert.:D Got 250mns and 150txt for £11 inc vat plus a new phone. I had to do the bartering as DH is so hard of hearing. (until I mutter under my breath, and he sais "I heard that!!"

I have a banoffee sort of dish in the fridge, never made one before. I got some reduced shortbread y/day and as I had some softy bananas to use up. I thought I'd make up as I go along, so, did the crushed biscs butter base, topped with bananas, whisked a tin of evap poared that over, sprinkled with choc powder and topped with sliced strawbs. I've put it in the fridge and still have my fingers crossed.

Posted y/day that DB2 has deceided he would like to stay with us next month so I found codes on MSE and got return train fare from D/mouth to C.Cary, S/Set for £4.20. more MSE.:j

Off to finish dinner, I have jackets in the oven and stuffed mushrooms (I know, live's to short) to go with rump steak, YS ofcourse.

A huge wellcome to PAIGEEXSTEWART and SHAZBA. Shazba your name reminds me of the prog Mork and Mindy, Mork always said Shazba when signing off. Spect I'm the only one who remembers that prog. :o

RUTHIBE, I'm so sorry to hear you have had such sad news about your DMiL and to hear about your DNan. You have joined the most caring sharing thread on here, there's always some-one who will listen and always a shoulder to lean on. Take care.

Oh good grief - just have to let you know, I was just being very OS in kitchen, found some carrots in bottom of veg drawer in fridge and thought I would make a carrot and coriander soup to take to work with me tomorrow as I knew they were well past their best, merrily cutting them up and then put my finger through one of them:eek: the smell was awful!!!

Still made soup out of the rest of the good ones though:rotfl:

Do you think it wil be ok to eat?????
