I just managed to get £123 worth of Body Shop stuff for £32.30! I saw it on the Grabbit board. I got 2 filled vanity cases, a vanity gift, some bath soak and 2 lots of peppermint foot sets. That's a couple of Christmas presents sorted :j There doesn't seem to be much in the cases, but I'm gonna pick up some other small bits and bobs and put them in :D

Here's the link if anyone is interested!

I had curry for lunch cuz it was use by today, and once again, my tummy has decided that soup and fishfingers is as exciting as it can handle at the moment.

I'm off to have another look at the Grabbit board, might as well get Christmas sorted early! :p

Well done with the Bodyshop stuff, I love the grabbit board! Tempted to get a few for the girls at the office for christmas.

So nice of you to do they CC transfer to your OD for her, will you be paying it off to get it cleared (but keeping tabs of what she's paid off herself!) or just leaving it till your mum pays it off?

Now, this has nothing to do with Money saving at all.. but my sister has just said (bare in mind she's 21) while we're watching eastenders 'Phil is actually not bad looking' ewwww!

Set up a DD from her account to yours instead of to the card, it will remind you to pay it and also guarantee you get the money.

    Debt September 20th 2022 £2991.68- 96.92% paid off

 I actually said out loud 'oh my god'! Has she no taste?! *Thinks of who isn't bad looking in Eastenders* I always quite liked Sean Slater! :p

I actually hadn't thought of doing that with the overdraft. What I had planned to do is pay off my £600, and just leave hers sitting there until she has paid off the two credit cards. Cuz my overdraft is 0% for the next 2 years. But after what you've said, I might pay it off when I can, and keep track of how much I've paid, then she can pay me back and I'll just put it in my savings.

Dinah, I always paid by DD anyway, in case I forgot to pay. I figured if I just did the DD from her account then there'd be no chance of there being missed/late payments and it'd cut out the middle man (i.e. me). She wouldn't cancel the DD or anything, she wouldn't know how!
I had a chat with her last night and I am going to look over her money and maybe post her SOA on here, and then on a Sunday I will give her the food allowance for the week. Me and my sister are going to help her meal plan and stuff. She went to the doctor yesterday and they have upped her anti-depressant dosage so hopefully it will help rather than make her worse (like they have done in the past). I just feel as if she needs some guidance money-wise at the moment, and I don't (always!) mind doing it. :o

Once again, I have no money news of my own. But I don't mind, I feel as if I've got enough money stuff to sort out at the mo! :p

I used to think Bradley was quite cute, but Phil?! She's not my sister anymore.

I know your mums money is on a much larger scale, but that's what I did with my (ex) sisters money that was on my CC, so when she gives me the money it'll be a neat boost to my savings.

I think it's really lovely how you're helping your mum out with her debt and meal planning ect. I hope she's feeling better soon, when my mum was depressed (still has bouts) it's was the worst thing to watch. Must be helping her having you and your sister to map things out a bit for her.

I don't think you need to worry about not having any money news of your own, sounds like there's loads going on!

    Haha, sister = disowned! :D

Yeah, I think I will use your plan. But I still have £600 of my own to pay off so I might not even get round to paying Mum's off anytime soon! My OH was a bit worried that I had left myself no emergency money (I currently have like £40 left on the overdraft) but both him and my sister have said I can borrow money off them if I need to, so I'm not worried.

My Mum has been depressed for about 10 years now, ever since my Dad left. It seems to be more than depression now though, she has physical head problems too. It's very confusing! It just upsets me and my siblings that she hasn't been happy for all these years, and she's just coping. So anything we can do to help, we do really. She's on the waiting list for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy so hopefully that will help! A very cheerful topic this.

I've quite enjoyed watching Jeremy Kyle show this week, I'm a closet fan! :D

I didn't know it was that bad Zig! I've heard of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy before, looks really good. I hope it helps her!

I'm a secret Jeremy Kyle fan too :o nothing better than a bit of Kyle to spruce up your mornings! Only watch it Wednesday mornings though, I love how stupidly angry he gets.

I understand your OH getting worried about the OD, but it'll grow as you pay your £600 off! Just being nosey here, but do you just use wages to pay it off? or do little ebaying/money making bits?

Yeah we are all hoping CBT works too, cuz it's kinda like the last resort!

Haha, he's hilarious! GET OFF MY STAGE! There were a family who lived round the corner from me, and they were on there. The story was that the Mum was in a relationship with her son's best mate. The son was the same age as me. It was so strange! From then on, they were known as the Jeremy Kyle family lol, how original!

Be as nosey as you want! I usually just use wages, partly because I don't really make any other money! I'm not really a fan of ebay at the moment, cuz all the ways it makes things harder for sellers! Plus, it's quite a lot of hassle. But I do surveys and stuff, and when they get paid in the money either goes on the overdraft or gets swallowed up!

Pretty much the same as me! I wish I could be ultra motivated like Dinah, but I always fall flat.

They must make some of the stories up, some seem so far fetched! I'm waiting for it to turn into a mini Jerry Springer Show, throwing chairs and randomly stripping off (that one was alarming to be watching with my Dad!)

I know, it's so impressive how Dinah and NIM do it all. I'm useless! I was gonna look into mystery shopping but the whole tax thing put me off. I think me and my Mum are gonna do a car boot sale next summer though, so that should earn us both some money. We need until next summer just to sort everything out! :p

I HATE watching embarrassing stuff with family! The whole atmosphere changes and I just cringe. Urgh.

The spider moved again last night and when we were going to sleep I saw it above my head on the ceiling. I was scared so my OH put it out the window, yay! I was well impressed that he actually did it! Bless him. :o

I'm watching the last This Morning with Fern, it's quite sad actually! But then, I am pathetic! :p Tis funny though!
