Chicken kiev is a favourite in our house, or sausages, or ham or bacon mixed in with the cauliflower cheese0

Good dollop of mashed potatoes, serving of a coloured veg for contrast(carrots, garden peas, broccoli perhaps) and a stodgier type pud to ensure comfortably full tummies.
Agree with others that a few strips of bacon and tomato rings laid over the top before baking make it 'look' more filling and nutritious.0 -
I just made some -using all the leftover christmas cheeses (inspired by the out-of date thread
). I used 1/2 cauliflower, 1/2 pasta and then threw in some leftover cooked rice and frozen sweetcorn. We had it with fish fingers and beans for a lazy Friday tea - it was gorgeous! Though the kids did turn their noses up at the blueberries from the wensleydale/blueberry cheese

Sorry, heard the pager but got stuck at work for a bit, so couldn't get here more quickly.
Yes, put bacon, broccoli and pasta in it and you really don't need anything else, just some nice crusty bread. A big hunk of French stick is good.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
If you want to keep it simple and healthy, plain boiled brown rice is delicious with cauliflower cheese as long as the sauce is not too thick. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

We had broccoli-flower cheese this evening. I always add the broccoli as I'm not that keen on cauliflower and keep trying to convince myself I like it. We generally have with gammon steak so I'll watch this thread for inspiration.
