What to have with cauliflower cheese?

Cauliflower cheese is a BIG favourite here and cheap to make. I do a great big dishfull and leave the top 1/3 of the cauli above the sauce and put bread crumbs and cheese on top so it browns beautifully. My problem is, I never know what to have with it. Nothing ever seems to be the perfect accompaniment?
I'm vegetarian and enjoy doing a few vegetarian meals a week that we can all have together, as hubby and 3 kids eat meat some nights so I would like vegetarian ideas ideally but would be interesting to know what everyone's fave is too.
I have in, spuds, carrots, salad, bread, veggie sausages in the freezer...

We usually have baked potatoes with it and you could have carrots to add some more colour to the plate"The time is always right to do what is right"0

Either some nice crusty bread to dip in the sauce, or some veggie sausages would be nice especially glamorgan ones and even some veggie gravy with it would work, and the carrots. ane possibly if some roast potatoes????Pawpurrs x0

I make cauli and broccoli cheese (with plenty of sauce) usually for sunday tea then the following day I add some cubes of boiled potato to bulk it out.
I heat up the previous days gravy in a pan and add the leftover chicken from the day before too. I let it simmer for 10-15 minutes and that's Monday nights tea sorted.
Do you eat any fish, if you do then fish goes lovely with cauli cheese. mmmmmm! :drool:Just run, run and keep on running!0 -

We are not vegetarian so have cauli cheese as a light lunch but otherwise would add a jacket potato or vegetable kebabs to the dish."This site is addictive!"

Fresh crusty bread sounds lovely. I'm suddenly wondering if it would be nice with pasta? I usually have it with mash and nut roast or veggie sausages. Don't get to have it often though cos DH doesn't like it.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

I do a variation of this with cauliflour and broccoli.I add in hard boiled egg sliced in half and pieces of bacon cooked before chopped up.Cheese and breadcrumbs on top.Apologies to vegetarians.0

I like to roast some tomatoes with a dash of olive oil and seasoning and serve with Jackets or crusty bread. The sharpness of tomatoes goes really well with the cheesy sauce.
