Our cluckers cost us an absolute fortune. Just wait until one of them develops its first oddly swolen feet. One thing that is definatly not suffering deflation is vet bills. A gazillion pounds a visit, plus medicine.

Vet bills for poultry?!?!?! Are you mad?

What happened to the butchers knife and chicken stew?

Can you buy a normal (proper) tv nowadays? Not as i watch much tv.

You can probably get one on eBay. Maybe you could get a Betamax and a Commodore 64 whilst you're on there?

As someone with dodgy friends, I am a great believer in the fact that wireless technology makes hacking incredibly easy, and virtually unpoliceable.

that's why i don't do wireless. my laptop is also 7 and a half years old!

liberal hearted legislators. These days, knife and chicken stew can lead to a long time with John in the local prison. And, frankly, given how odd society is you're more likely to get done for abusing a chicken than a pensioner who fought for us in the second world war.

Just to show how cheap tellies have become - 27 years ago my parents bought a Hitachi colour portable for £185. It did last 25 years though and was only junked because the sound control stopped working.

I think designer clothes are still the chav's preferred way of showing their wealth. The bailiffs can't take your clothes apparently.

does anyone know the origin of the word 'chav'? i believe it's an acronym for Council House And Violent.

i really liked the doc julie burchill did a few years ago where she said that the word 'chav' was basically invented by the middle class to put down the working class.

I don't know how to work the video and I don't know what a commodore 64 is  Me and technology have limits.
I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left.
  • I understood that plasma was to be outlawed by the EU.

I've got a portable I bought from Lidl for £50 about 5 years ago.

Hmmm, now theres a thing.............. The mother of all money wasters the EU, trying to ban expensive things of little value.

Actually I dont get this thing against plasmas, I havent actually got one I have got one of them big old pieces of crap thats about the size of an average terraced house taking up half my living room.

Fair enough some people buy a big TV as a bragging tool, but I want one cos I want a big TV. I NEVER open our curtains anyway, and could'nt give a flying what people thought of it, I buy things I want, for me, irrespective of other people.

Been looking at HD home projectors actually, you can have an 8 foot picture for less than the price of a plasma. Who wouldnt want to watch Deal or no Deal on an 8 foot screen?

I have tended to lean towards to eco/ethicaly made stuff lately though.

So if its bad for the environment and assembled by 8 year olds in a sweat shop, then I'm buying it!

whether I want it or not..........cos I'm like that :)
