    Huge hugs to Rchddap

I've woken up with a bad back and neck again but I've got to go out shopping anyway as DD has a fancy dress day on Thursday where they have to go as a book character. She's decided to go as Cinderella!! Only not the sooty dirty costume but the full ball gown and gloves. So I have three days to create a miniature ball gown. I refuse to cheat and buy a costume even though I know most of the mums will.

When DS had to go as a book character he went as the White Rabbit complete with pocket watch and furry head :D 2 years later he went as Thomas the Tank Engine, manufactured from 3 cardboard boxes and an awful lot of blue paint :D

    Wish me luck everyone :)

Well another day at work  At least my boss isn't here today so that should make it more bearable.

Well to try and stick with my goals for not spending this week I've brought breakfast and lunch for me and my OH to work (he works at the same place). Also taken in a big bottle of orange to give me the incentive to drink more water.

rchddap1 - I've PM'd you about the stuff you're going through with your insurance company - I'm having exactly the same problem at the moment

DD's bearded dragon died early this morning. Thanks CQ for all your help and advice last night, but it had all happened so quickly. OH has emailed the seller.

DD still not too good (sicky) so is at home today. OH & my throat is killing us but apparently there is alot of it around ATM.

WM has finished washing DD's bedspread and is now hanging on airer. Toilet cleaned. DW emptied. Floors need sweeping through quickly and everything else is clean and tidy from last week. SIL should be here today to do a few things around the house and the ironing. Have another washload possibly to go on later.

Hope everyone else is feeling well, and have been able to sleep x

Well, i had a better nights sleep last night, mind you, after Saterday night, that wasnt difficult!!! I actually feel worse today than i did yesterday, but ive had my first cup of tea for the day and once ive taken DS and DD to school later, im sure i will perk up!!!!
So, that means half term has ended, i love having them home, but it will be nice to get back into a routine again. I was so organised last night, i actually made their packed lunches and stuck them in the fridge, so this morning feeling very smug that im so prepared!!!
Have 2 little ones here today, think we might do some gluing and sticking, as i sorted out all our 'arty' stuff, and now know where everything is :T
Just have to put the BM on, and do a little bit of cleaning, for dinner ive taken out a lasagne from the freezer, so dont even have to worry about cooking later, wonderful!!!! :j

  • Morning everyone,

Nice to see some new faces- and to catch up with some old ones too:wave:

Well, I fell off the wagon in February:eek: and doesn't my bank balance know it.

I tried to loose weight with slimming world, it was working but costing me a small fortune, so I have just decided to cut back on the cakes etc and have smaller portions.

I also missed cooking some of mY oldstyle favourites.

Today I have to go to playgroup with my daughter, she can start on her own in May, so amorning of messy play in store. We've already made some seasame breadsticks for her healthy snack:D

cottage pie for dinner tonight, and finish off the massive amount of broccoli I bought at the market on saturday for 50p.
I also need to tweek my online food shop, (bulky heavy items and storecupboard bits and unobtainable at Lidls bits). I do one online shop a month and use the butcher, market and lidls to see me through the month. This month I really need to reign in my food spend, went way, way over last month:eek: :o

I shall go now and see if there is any mystery shopping jobs round my way and look up about the paid2click sites (thanks bargainrzl). Oh and by the way I got a job at the co-op in the village in the evenings so a bit more money coming my way:T :j

anyway a bit of a long and garbled post from me:embarasse

Have a good day one and all, and if you're expectng snow today, keep warm!

    regareds

    Good Morning all
Sorry to hear about your accident rchddap1, hope it all works out.
I'm on a first aid course for 4 days, starting at 9:30, woo hoo. I normally start work at 7:30, so 2 whole hours on here before I go.
Hubby tiled the hall at the weekend, it lookes great & only cosy £42 as the tiles were on offer, I was so tired of the carpet scraps we had down.
I cooked a huge piece of brisket (£6 reduced from £9) for sunday lunch, & then made beef & mushroom pie, beef in red wine casserole & beef broth with the leftovers, all in the freezer now. I know red wine isn't very OS, but I feed a neighbours cats for them when they go on holiday & they always give me wine as a thank you!
My second lodger has arrived, so we are a bit better off for a while, & I'm stashing all the extras in to my mortgage.
Hugs & blessings to one & all.
    Sue

  • pp - so sorry to hear about the bearded dragon. your daughter must be really upset as she had waited a while for it. Haven't you only had it about a week?

I haven't posted all weekend as i've been trying to be a bit organised. We went for a big family meal on Saturday night as it was my dads birthday. We went to a place we have been to before, but i didn'tfind the food as nice as normal, as the management has changed hands.

also went to buy car tax, sort out bank things, and buy a couple of pairs of trousers.

sunday, i continued work on my cross stitch, and finished the first panel of four.

I have some news for you all which i shall only be saying on this thread. I've just found out i'm pregnant. It's quite early days, so i'm not telling too many people i know, but i'm too excited to not tell anyone. so fingers crossed for me everyone that it will go ok in these next few weeks.

I've also come to the decision that i need to get back to work, so i've emailed my boss to try and sort this out. They are talking about me going back on a supported timetable as i've been off for so long. I need to get back and earn some money, as i would be looking at taking off nearly a year of maternity leave.

i'm hoping nobody will notice my belly, although it has got bigger anyway while i've been off as i'm so inactive.

I've got a speech therapy session up at the hospital today, so i should be able to cope with work again. I hope.

    Have a nice day everyone.

    Morning All,

Havent posted since friday afternoon, feels weird to have been away for so long. Preparing for the move still, boxes EVERYWHERE!!

CHAZ97MICHELLE-CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!! Very excited for you and oh.

FOREVERSKINT-Congrats on the co-op job. I'm hoping to get the same sort of work at Tesco when wemove as I can do evenins now that dh will be home by 5.45.

SCUZZ-Well done :T , you should feel really proud of yourself!

PP-:grouphug: for DD. I hope you manage to get something sorted out with the seller.

AMANDA666-Welcome to old style, you'll soon feel right at home here.

NICKI- :grouphug: for you chick, I've only just caught up on the threads.

RCHDDAP- :grouphug: make sure you look after yourself, get something prescribed if need be, whiplash HURTS.

RACYRED-LOL, sounds like something I would say!

Woken to the smell of chicken stock today, had some bubbling away in the SC overnight. Am planning to use some to make a risotto tonight. Does anyone know if I can make gravy from stock? BM needs to go on today, wish I had remebered to put it on timer last night  . WM will not be on today, washed EVERYTHING in sight yesterday, I cant wait till we have moved and have radiators to hang things on.

Am debating whether or not to take the stairgate away from the bottom of the stairs, dd is 18 months old on the 1st of March and is great at climbing but I've never let her go down alone. Things is, they dont fit at the new house and I dont want to buy smaller ones for the sake of a couple of months.

Yesterday in our garden we saw a rat the size of a small cat, I kid you not-the sodding thing was HUGE!!! It was feasting on the HM bread bits I had put out for the birds :naughty: so no more of that will be going out in my garden. The freezer is full to bursting with breadcrumbs already and no-one here likes bread and butter pudding so they will just have to be binned :( .

Right, off for a browse and mega catch up of threads. :grouphug: to anyone I've missed and to all that need one.

    Chat later,
    Al.
