Cheers guys, will give them a call this weekend

We completed the online application last night and got that same acknowledgement screen. I rang their customer services this afternoon and was put on hold while he checked and then told the deal had been pulled at noon today, but because we'd applied last night they would still call us. Not sure whether to believe him, will probably ring them tomorrow again.
Likewise put an application 'online' last night(I waited all week for our Premier account stuff to come thorugh we had applied for, mistake number 1 we needn't have waited). Rang this afternoon after seeing it had been pulled and was told that the online application was just "requesting a callback". After arguing the toss about why they have an option to call them, get a call back or apply online (and the latter is the same as the a callback......) I gave up.
After reading about the KFI stuff and online applications though I rang back tonight. I never downloaded my KFI(lesson learned for future, even though websites say you can print it if you like, it means print it or we'll try and wriggle out of it) but after finally speaking to a decent customer service person they put through an application based on one of the other Premier 2 year fixes that has similar terms so the KFI is similar. They will then match my application over the phone to the "online application" I made when they are in next week so will process the offer if successful as a 5 year fix at 3.99%.
Interesting to see if they do actually callback from teh original application.
I think I made 2 or 3 key facts docs during my research in the last week but never saved or noted down references. Thankfully the online application looks to have swung it as they had some details. That said if they wriggle out I'll look at taking it further, calling it an online application if it isn't is shocking customer service. I would have rung them earlier yesterday if I had realised the application was a single webpage with basic details and nothing like an application.0 -
I went through my application over the phone yesterday lunchtime and they said they'd email me they KFI but i haven't received anything which is weird as I applied for a further advance and the information on that came through whilst I was still talking to the...0

I got my email as I was speaking to them, I needed to read it to proceed with the application on the phone.0

Remember you can apply well before you are due to expire. Once they have allocated funds they tend to stick with your application so maybe start looking in 6 months??
Good luckI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine0 -
I spoke to A and L this morning and they said the email was sent yesterday but I still don't have it. They said they'd resend it on Monday as there is no one in the sending emails department today0

Turns out that when they send the key facts illustration out (as they did yesterday) that constitutes a verbal offer, if you like, and so the deal was still open to us. So I snapped it up. Hope this helps anyone else in the same situation.
Thanks SmileyDan. I had a key facts illustration dated as long ago as 17th March. I called A and L this morning and was initially told that I was too late and that the offer was gone. They said that the KFI would only be valid if dated within the past three days. I argued that I had not received a call back and after speaking with her manager, the staff member agreed that they would honour my KFI from 11 days earlier.:T0 -
Well-argued!0

Well I shouldn't have doubted them ! We rang them this morning and spent an hour or so on the 'phone completing the application process, being credit checked, paid valuation fee etc.0 -
No that is not correct.
You only have to transfer One direct debit to qualify for the £100. I spent Monday afternoon in the A&L and went through all the details with a fine tooth comb! Ended up opening a Premier Direct Account.
Actually, just been on the A & L website testing out my new account, and I came across this:
1This offer is open to customers who we accept for a new Premier Current Account or new Premier 50 Current Account opened through https://www.alliance-leicester.co.uk. Customers are not eligible for this offer if they currently hold or have held in the past 3 months any Alliance & Leicester or Abbey current account. Offer is limited and can be withdrawn at any time, and is only open to customers accepted for a new Premier Current Account or new Premier 50 Current Account. £100 will be paid into your new Premier Current Account or new Premier 50 Current Account within 4 months of account opening providing you switch all your direct debits/standing orders to the account and for Premier Current Account have funded at least £500 from a non-Alliance & Leicester account within 11 weeks of opening the account. If you do not have any direct debits to switch you will not receive £100. You must ask to use our Premier Switching Service at application stage.
(My bolding and italics). Though I'm not sure how they'd know if you only switched one direct debit...? In any case, I'm past the application stage now so it's no good to me even if I wanted to do it. May help someone else though.
