We've just been accepted for the old 3.99% no fees offer. Turns out that when they send the key facts illustration out (as they did yesterday) that constitutes a verbal offer, if you like, and so the deal was still open to us. So I snapped it up. Hope this helps anyone else in the same situation.

No chance! what business runs away from business?
They are cashing in on the old panic buying situ IMO. The economy has a strong reliance on people taking mortgages and the banks know it. They will keep the fees there for as long as they can but someone will come along to mop up the business they are losing by charging high fees. Remember, there are still a very high number of people riding the waves of SVR and are in no hurry to fix, until a good deal comes along. I think anyone throwing £1000 at a bank is doing just that, throwing it away. Who can spare that just now?_pale_
I honestly think there will be an offer on the table soon that has a good rate and no/low fee.

  • Secured a five year fix at 3.99% with RBS yesterday - arrangement fee just £99. I'm an existing customer coming to end of current deal, so not sure if available to customers who wish to remortgage from other lenders.....

I can't believe the A&L offer has been pulled already :( I put in an online application on Sunday morning. When complete it came up with a reference number & a message that I'd get a phonecall within 2 working days...still waiting on 'that' call. I assume I've missed the boat on this one? Bummer if I have!

i'd give them a call and try your luck with it, say that you had applied and havent had the keyfacts out i reckon you would probably get it.

We completed the online application last night and got that same acknowledgement screen. I rang their customer services this afternoon and was put on hold while he checked and then told the deal had been pulled at noon today, but because we'd applied last night they would still call us. Not sure whether to believe him, will probably ring them tomorrow again.
