  • Hello to all. I've missed what's going on since last Wednesday as we were at DD's and didn't get back until late last night.

To all the mothers here, know you are admired, appreciated and thought of often by me. I know it's not the same as hearing it from your children and I understand it's painful when you don't hear it, especially on Mothering Sunday.

I'm not the biological mum of any of our kidlets here in the UK. I don't expect to get a happy mothers day card etc from them even though one of our DD's is very close to me and I'm her "ma" as her mum has passed away. So I guess to be honest, it does hurt a bit that I didn't even get a phone call.

In the USA, mothers day is in May. I've not heard from any of my 4 bio kidlets there on mother's day in 2 years now. I'm not expecting to this year either. There's a long story behind their limited contact with me. I understand it yet again, it still hurts.

I'm not sure if this point if I'm even making any sense at all. Probably not. So here are big hugs :grouphug: and much love :smileyhea to you all.

    Peyton xx

My good day was wrecked when DGS' lovely 2 year old border collie ran out on the road about 8pm and was killed by a car.....DGS was asleep, DD4 and OH have both gone to bed in tears and we are all wondering what we are going to tell DGS in the morning...she had only been let out for 5 minutes before going to bed...DD4 is now blaming herself for not going out with her, for not shutting the gates, for anything you can think off...I am just numb, afraid that if I start to cry I may not stop

  • Morning all
Just a quick post from me as we're off out soon, as I said yesterday we held a tabletop sale at school yesterday. BOW was running the refreshment stall. She was selling out of date pies & pasties, warming them in a microwave, handling money & making up sandwiches in the corner of the hall on dirty desks & with no handwashing facilities nearby, she was keeping the money in her bra & wasn't wearing gloves. The bursar was having kittens & tried to stop her, but BOW ploughed on regardless. I've been looking for a food hygene leaflet that I can download so I can show her why the bursar was so upset. Unfortunately she takes everything as a personal attack, as she did when I stopper her re-using all the plasic cups in the med room. Does anyone know where I can find this information? I've tried my local council webpage but may be looking in the wrong place.

I've found a couple of sites that may help. Anyway, here they are:

    http://www.westwiltshire.gov.uk/the_essentials_of_food_hygiene-2.pdf

    http://www.westwiltshire.gov.uk/essentials_of_personal_hygiene-4.pdf

    http://www.nea.gov.sg/cms/eed/Food%20hygiene%20handbook%20(eng,chi)Chapters%201%20to%2010_updated.pdf

The last one takes forever to load for me. Hope these help.

    Hugs,
    Peyton xx

  • ((((((((((((((Marie, her DD4, DGS)))))))))))) I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of the furbaby. That is so heartbreaking. :( I'm not sure how old your DGS is however in my opinion, it's best to tell him the truth that his pup has died.

My children went through a few years when they lost their great-grandmother, grandfather, great-grandfather and a furbaby within 15 months. The older ones got more detail than the younger ones. They were around the ages of 3, 4, 11 and 12 at the time. They were all reassured that all their loved ones (including furbaby) were at peace, safe and loved.

My brother in law told the kidlets something that really seemed to help them. He said that although we couldn't see the person/furbaby any longer, that as long as we thought of them and they were in our hearts, they were never really gone from us.

Hugs, prayers and thoughts for you all.
