Evening all!
Hugs to all who need/want them.
OS - Sunday is shopping and laundry day, but have also decluttered my underwear and sock drawers, and thrown away a whole bag full of old, don't fit, etc etc.
Mum v pleased with her card (Mums are like buttons - they hold it all together!) and v v pleased with her garden vouchers - the parents have organised an Open Gardens thing on their street - so she was muttering about bark and compost .
Took Dad to Mr A as usual - I was pleased to have come in under budget, but highly amused when he tried to get into the passenger seat of the car next to me once he had put his trolley back - he'd got distracted by a leaflet about mobile phones - the silliest thing was the other car was a completely different colour from mine :rotfl:
The boss is now off until Thursday, so I hope that I can find something to do until then. I hate having nothing to do, I get so bored and it doesn't look good sitting around surfing in an open plan office with your back to the door, especially in the current climate!
Anyway, off to make tomorrow's packed lunch and then to do some cross stitch.
Sleep well and have a nice Monday, folks.

Well as Chrisca suggested I showed my 15yr old DD the thread and she did have the decency to be more than a little embarassed. I did get an apology and her behaviour since has been much better. Let's just hope her good behaviour continues. Thank you for all your continued support-that's partly what I love about this forum-you're all so wonderful and supportive.
I've had a couple of glasses of wine this evening and am feeling (understandably) more relaxed

Tattycath - glad your DD saw how badly she was behaving:j
Squiggly - you have my sympathy. My eldest promised to do his bed today - then promptly went out so I have stripped it off and he'll have to do it - probably in the early hours when he gets in:D DH had a word with him earlier about not getting anything for me and he came up with all sorts of excuses:rolleyes: but never mind I've got a long memory;)
DS2 is still wondering why I'm in a bad mood:rolleyes: - I'll inform him when he needs a lift to see his girlfriend:D

(((hugs))) to mums!!!
We went to see Slum Dog Millionnaire. today and I just hated it. Couldn't wait for the film to end so I could get out of the cinema. Probably in the minority. Still, I just don't need to *see* such cruel things - I know they happen but just wish I had done a bit of research before thinking it would be a film I'd like.
OS stuff today - enjoyed the sunshine outside for a while. Hung out a load of towels which smelt so fresh when I took them in. Roast gammon lunch today and plenty left over for salad tea for Mon and Tue.
F-in-L much better today. The sickness has settled and he was actually up and about. They might let him get home on Tues.
Ok, off to put on jimjams. DH is ironing them

ESSEX H. Good grief, how do you manage to fit all of that in?
Well you can talk Superwoman!! :rotfl:
Haven't quite got everything done yet but we are a heck of a lot more organised for our holiday than we were, and the DSW is loaded and ready to go on later. Bed still to be made, and I'm hopeful that OH is about to get the hoover out......the muffins were chocolate ones by the way - and very tasty they were too. *Goodness - OH must have been reading over my shoulder as the hoover has just been plugged in behind me - I AM getting him trained!!;)
Ended up taking quite a few photos on our walk earlier so I will have to get those processed and see if any are any good....might sling one up on my blog later on.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

"Hugs to everyone who needs one today.
I need one ..... I have two children, DS is 14 DD is 12. About two years ago, DS chose to go and live with his father and new girlfriend. Father 'whispers in his ear' what a bad mother I am and, bless him, he believes it. DD has stayed with me. However, we hardly see DS at all, maybe once a month when he wants his pocket money. DD doesn't see her brother and today, he hasn't phoned, called, sent anything at all..... I am so lucky to still have DD here. She is a Godsend, but I know she misses her brother. As a result, she no longer goes to visit her father because she believes he doesn't want her, only DS.
All I have ever wanted in this life is an OS family and to be a SAHM. Quite how we all find ourselves in this position, I don't know"
Ain't life rubbish sometimes, I'm sure DS will form his own opinion in time and see you're just his Mum who loves him no matter what. Hugs from one Mum to another.0 -
afternoon!
bit of a rant coming up here.
After what happened yesterday am a bit fragile anyway but am now feeling rather tearful. Nothing for me on mothers day. DS2 only remembered as he was eating his lunch (cooked by me) when an ad came on tv(he asked me the other day what I wanted and I said a few daffs) but in the end no card or anything:( DS1 is still in bed:mad: no card either from him although he did get me a cd 2 weeks ago as an early present. I just feel rather taken for granted, I didn't want much - just a sign that they care and are grateful for everything I do for them but it appears both are too selfish to realise.
I am on the verge of tears. I know its silly but it matters.
I went to a lot of trouble for my Mum and always have.
anyway sorry for the rant but sometime you have to get it off your chest.:(
I agree boys can be very self-centred, I spoke to my mum this morning who was delighted to have received Mother's day cards from both my brothers (both in their 40s and married:rolleyes: ), last year she had nothing and felt just like you, I don't think it's deliberate it's just not so important to them IMO.0 -
