    Morning all

many thanks for all the good wishes from yesterday, you are all a lovely bunch of people:T They decided it wasn't a heart attack - something to do with the vagal(sp?) nerve possibly but they had to do lots of test to make sure. The cardiac nurse there was brilliant and had a good long talk to him and said he needs to think about his lifestyle and slow down - possibly he should give up work and also that one of his arteries is blocked( not one of the 3 he had done in his op) The pain in his leg was bad sciatica. We got home at about midnight and are both shattered today so will be taking it easy. My work have been brilliant covering for me and ringing to see how we are, I'm lucky to have such good friends.
I have to admit that yesterday on the dash home I thought that this was it, his time had come so I am a very relieved person this morning.

(((hugs))) to all those in need of one, especially Jade's family.
Happy Mothering Sunday to everyone - my 2 are still in bed:rolleyes: am not expecting a great deal off them as their Dad usually checks up to make sure they have got something. DS1 already gave me the Comic relief CD by Ness and Bryn which I love.

    Have a lovely day all

    Take care xx

ladymay - I'm glad the play went so well :T and yes, I'm sure tidying your room does count :p

Just realised this makes me sound about 14 years old:p I live in a shared housewith five other people so my main responsibility is just my room, the rest gets done communally - allegedly. pretty sure i do a lot more than my fair share though

W*rk is really quiet so far today - fingers crossed it'll stay this way :D

  • Taplady glad DH is ok.....must have been very worrying for you.
Sounds like he had a Vasovagal syncope (vasovagal attack) which is basically fainting but they do get the sweating, clammyness etc you would with a heart attack.
I am sure they gave you plenty of info at the hospital but there should be loads of info on the net if you do a search for that.

So pleased your DH was not having a heart attack. Maybe he will listen to the hospital and really take care of himself so could be a blessing in disguise.

Youngest DD has just given me a bunch of tulips, a lovely card and some shower stuff from M and S!:j

Roast pork is in the Remoska and potatoes have been parboiled. Still need to go buy veg to roast to go with the meal. Having a quick cup of tea before setting off.

Youngest DD has just presented with a washing basket of at least four washloads- she did have the grace to blush!!! First load is on now and second load will be put on before I go shopping to take advantage of the nice weather.

    SOS!

DD who has just got home from uni adores carrot cake and I don't have a foolproof recipe.

Can anyone help as it would really impress her if I could do a decent carrot cake? Pretty please?:A

Hugs to all and see you later.

Just a quick post from me as we're off out soon, as I said yesterday we held a tabletop sale at school yesterday. BOW was running the refreshment stall. She was selling out of date pies & pasties, warming them in a microwave, handling money & making up sandwiches in the corner of the hall on dirty desks & with no handwashing facilities nearby, she was keeping the money in her bra & wasn't wearing gloves. The bursar was having kittens & tried to stop her, but BOW ploughed on regardless. I've been looking for a food hygene leaflet that I can download so I can show her why the bursar was so upset. Unfortunately she takes everything as a personal attack, as she did when I stopper her re-using all the plasic cups in the med room. Does anyone know where I can find this information? I've tried my local council webpage but may be looking in the wrong place.
I hope everyone has a good day.
    Hugs Hester

Morning all (((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))) and thoughts where needed. Did'nt get on at all yesterday due to children hogging the computer so I'll catch up later on.

I've given my Mum some flowers & her cross stitched card that I made & I received some fluffy slippers, pink secateurs & matching gardening gloves, a geranium, a lemon scented conifer, a worlds best mum mug & a book mark so I've done very very well. They are angels :A I'm doing a roast chicken for tea with new potatoes & salad to make life a bit easier. My Mum & Dad were going to come down for the meal but Dad still struggles being in a noisy atmosphere, he does better one to one at the moment.

(((((((((((((((((big hugs))))))))))))))))) & prayers to all who are missing their Mum's today for whatever reasons.

I'm not a great fan of all this mothering sunday malarky....good job really as my 2 little darlings haven't even surfaced yet this morning so I had to make my own tea and toast :D

Left some vinegar in my iron last night to descale it, the muck that came out this morning was vile.....but at least I felt virtuous doing it the OS way....until DH told me he'd got some discaler in the shed that would have done it in half the time.

I'm with you on that Pooky, It's all a bit of a palaver, feeling obliged to do something special when really we should be showing Mum how much we appreciate her all the time (if we're lucky enough to have one in our lives). If my DS & DD remember then great but I don't make a big deal of it, having said that they both surprised me by giving me a bunch of flowers each and a card:D
I'm happy enough having a lazy day on Mother's day, did all the housework yesterday and might just sit on the PC all day;) . Debating whether to cook a roast (yum yum) or have a Chinese tonight (not very OS but really gives me the day off then!)
Off to descale my iron now, was going to try the vinegar but might use up that descaler left over in the cupboard instead:D

    Morning,

Hope everyone is having a good mother's day. Unfortunately not seeing my mum this mother's day as saw her last weekend for a big birthday party and leaves a few hours away - thinking of what a great mum she is though, I do miss seeing her more often.

Thoughts are with Jade's family at this sad time. I had a scare about a year ago, luckily things turned out okay but it was very upsetting especially being in your 20's like Jade. Watched the documentaries on her and it was very upsetting, I definitely feel sorry for her two boys who are soooo young.

Went for a lovely walk yesterday near the river yesterday the 2 dogs absolutely loved it, couldn't get them out of the river - mine loves swimming!! lol.

Today I had a bit of a lie in, put some washing out, going to clean the house, go food shopping (hopefully it will be a bit quieter today!) and might go for another walk depends if OH feels better (he now has the bad cold I had earlier on in the week!!).

Have a good day all and enjoy the weather :)
