Hi NM - Can I just get this straight - Your property has c.£12k equity and you and your OH both went BR? You have been able to buy the BI for £6k (or your MIL has), so job done you keep the house spending half what you may have expected?
I'm liking the sound of that! I'm also interested in just how quickly you have reached this deal when there are many on here talking about resolving the BI issue around the time of discharge.
I'm glad things are moving forward well for you.“I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.”

 Well done on the house and car, bet you are well chuffed
Last year we bought a load of builders buckets in B&Q and a black plastic dustbin and tons of compost (this year we have all the compost from our own compost bins ). We planted up tons of stuff but found that salad stuff was the most succesful for us. Also lots of different herbs. We also have trained some fruit trees along the fences. In the black bin we put potatoes. We also put some apple trees in huge tubs out the front of the house and planted stuff around the bottom. We also put strawberries in hanging baskets. We have now got some shelving that has gone up the side of the shed which the buckets are going on so we will be able to plant up different stuff. ). Pop over to the Greenfingers board, there are some great tips on there.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0

Thanks for that tiger, I must admit I found moneysavingexpert through someone who i knew through work who had gone BR, read this board daily but the past few weeks I have explored the rest of the forums, I have had some great freebies including a full size rimmel mascara that arrived today (i needed some too!) and some free strawberry plants (postage)
I have posted today on the greenfingered board as I am wanting to 'tart up' my patio, it has Horrible concrete square paving slabs, obviously we cant afford to replace them but want them to look better, no answers yet though!
I love most of this site, some of the discussions can be a bit harsh though but we all have opinions.. as long as they leave those opinions off this board im happy.0

Thanks very much NM - I have to say I couldn't agree more when it comes to the value of your house. I've looked around and seen many similar places to mine with about £50k spread of asking prices. I gave the OR a low valuation that I think is pretty reasonable for a quick sales, but I may argue that it is slightly lower next month...“I contend that we are both atheists.
