I was quoted £39 for my phone. I got an e-mail saying it didnt pass because it didnt power up. They asked if I wanted it sent back so I said yes. It arrived and I charged the battery and it powers up fine! Seems to me they cant even be bothered charging the phones up!
Theyve sent me another envelope and Im resubmitting it!

  • it looks like this site is very popular with them. when you sign up one of the questions is 'how did you hear about us' one of the options is moneysavingexpert.com !!!

btw, when you sign up there is no mention of them sending the jiify bag, do they send it automatically?

tunesurfer, no worries, I sent mine phones by courier so they arrived next day.

You should for your own piece of mine make sure the phone powers up before you send it. I asked if sending some phones without a charged battery was ok and was told that it was. Tbh they should have gone to effort to plug in a charger!

I just converted to points at present but soon will be converting them to erm i dunno cheque... argos...cheque... argos not sure! It's a lot a money and don't know if the 15% more for Argos is worth it as Argos tends to be more than doing a competitive search.

i got a jiffy bag with my signup letter and envirofone card but I'm pretty sure I added an item to the "basket" and signed up then.

If you signed up first and have not as yet traded a phone then you should trade a phone then they automatically send you a jiffy bag.
  • First go! try also https://www.recyclemymobile.co.uk as they offered me more for my phones.

got my phone bagged up, got to post the thing now. Glad to see the website updated & now my p910i is worth £90, well done envirophone, you may just get it when i upgrade!
    W00t!
  • Pity there's no way of checking your points balance online with envirofone. I know you can check by phoning the number on the card and inputting the very long number!

I am astounded what you guys think of as old mobiles - couldnt you sell some of the recent ones on ebay for more?
A question: for those of us who have just stopped using dinosaurs like the Nokia 3310 which site (if any) is best to use? TIA

Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...

    hi Clowance,
There are a few advantages to using envirofone\mopay etc instead of eBay.

It's less hassle, eBay can be a nightmare if things go wrong and you are guaranteed a buyer using envirofone\mopay.

Quite often you may get a higher price on eBay but only if someone actualyl bids. You also find that sometimes envirofoen\mpay may offer a better selling price for your phone than eBay especially if your phone has scratches which makes a huge difference on eBay.

Best to check both sites to sell your phone.

envirofone will give you: £4.11 or £4.76 Argos
Mopay wil give you £7.70 (- AT LEAST 10% as it's not new) = £6.93
eBay - avg £7-14 I suspect depending on condition
