Hello Mrs G-G!! :hello:
Just read your diary, it has made me laugh out loud, have you ever considered a career as a writer?? Honestly, your humour is fabulous, well on a par with some of the "chick lit" books I've read. You could turn your DFW diary into a novel!! :j
On the subject of cats - on your first post, you wrote that you buy the cheapest cat food - do they eat it??? When I tried to downshift my cat from Felix/Whiskas pouches to Tescos own she refused to eat it for 2 days, then on day 3 she caught a rat outside and dismembered and ate it on the patio so we could see every detail through the window while we were having lunch!! Talk about making a point!! "If you feed me that rubbish I'll have to catch my own"!!!
Anyway, good luck on the job hunting, and the horse sharing, my mum has a horse which is both time consuming and expensive but she loves her to bits!

Hello to you as well dearest MogChops!!
Ever since we had cats, we never ever stuck to one brand of cat food. Recipe for disaster, you make your cats fussy. What we do is we chop and change between the cheaper brands. We know our guys prefer the gravy type flavours (notice I use the word flavours cos lets face it hardly any meat in there!) but we still get the jelly stuff. They nearly always eat it. If they don't then, I think like your feline friend, they make do with self service nature style or they go and rob the houses of their local cat buddies.
I reckon that a rat is probably a more balanced meal than any of this tinned or dried rubbish that is available.** Proud to be dealing with my debts **LBM - Jan 2009 _pale_ : £24,802.21 :eek:February 2010 :silenced: : £18,078.47 (not including OD)July 2010= £16,819.34 (not including OD)

Update of the day!
Hi to my regulars, my newbies, lurkers, shirkers, stalkers and aliens.
This time last year I would have been waiting for Easter to arrive as I would have been working my butt off in the office and a four day weekend was utter bliss. Nearly as blissful as a whole tray of Tiramisu followed by a nice glass of red. However, this year, I couldn't believe it when Mr GG told me that it was Easter this weekend! Time flies when you are unemployed my wonderful DFW crew.
Goes to show that when you are out of work, or when dates lose all meaning that you just don't know if you are coming or going, what the day is or what the time is. Unless you don't count Elevenses, Pimms O'clock, Afternoon tea at the Ritz and other food related breaks!
In some ways, I am glad that I do have things to get up for otherwise I am not sure how I would spend my days. Probably on MSE reading every single diary on here!
Mr GG and I walked through the door at home today thinking the dog had murdered the cats. Fear not. Our canine chum is just moulting. A lot. So much fur, I could make another dog I am sure!!
The dark mood hovvering over DH, I am certain, is due to holidays. Keeps spouting off travel itinerary ideas that he has. Sound absolutely exotic and esquisite and expensive. No way can we afford, alas dreaming is free, so a quick jab in the ribs and a flash in the chops of his credit card bill is enough to snap him back to reality. Wish things could be different. In a few years they will be.
As it stands we are the latest addition to the marketing term DINKY. We are in fact, DINKY POD's (Double Income No Kids Yet Plenty Of Debt).
The last couple of days have been productive. Have been helping the same friend out again and have earnt £90. I put £10 in the sealed pot at home, which pleased Mr GG immensley. Extra brownie points for meeeeeee.
I still have £55 in my purse from last week, so plus this £80, I have an extra bit of wonga to do with what I will. Do I pay it off the evil MBNA card or do I get some new clothes in preparation for a new job????
Talking of the evil credit card. I can't remember the last time I used it. That is a huge improvement. So much so that I had to really shake my head HARD to remember the PIN number. Fantastic. I have reduced my credit card usage by loads. Looking forward to my next statement as I think it will only have two transactions on it. Previous to this it would have been two pages worth.
Have realised that I have not posted my GM book off to my lucky buyer. Gotta do that and should do it on Saturday, assuming the Post Orifice is open. Hope so.
Have a quiet weekend planned, just a bit of homecooked meals, cheap plonk and TV, interspersed with a few hours riding, dog walking and maybe if I feel like it, some house cleaning. I remain on top of the washing (not literally!!), unless you count the underwear. Got a load in the tumble, though reckon have another two loads to do. Cannot stand pairing up socks. So sure that they hide just to spite me. Mr GG is a wotsit and is very good at just stuffing random socks in my sock drawer, even if they are his and claims to know nothing about it.
Mr GG has just subjected me to 97 minutes of naff 80's movies, with Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor. I didn't get it. Clearly, I am super intelligent with the brain cell level "Female 56" that such films are not worthy of my understanding. It was so thrilling I can't even remember the name of it.
Wedding anniversary is on the horizon. Mr GG wants to go away for a night or two. I have been DFW and MSE stalwart and said "Wonderful. dearest spouse but lets not spend the money we don't have. Why not stay at home but treat ourselves whilst at home, we can go to a lovely restaurant, or the theatre or a spa or for a lovely long walk." Cue Mr grumpy butt appears, he was not so keen and shot himself in the foot by remarking "its about the company and spending time together that counts" so the foolish boy only went and justified my nonspending argument. And men say that women are intellectually inferior!!!!
Have had my second interview confirmed for next week. So shall swot up and be ready for that. Another job I thought I would apply for, I have decided not to. Its really too far and I don't think it would really work out or be up my street.
Surfed online the last couple of days and there is not one job that I can or want to apply for. Its looking grim. Hell, its a bank holiday after all!!
My headache has gone, which is great. I think its dehydration. Have been trying to drink more, which has the kick back effect of needing the loo in the middle of the night, which frankly I could do without. One of my pals is a nurse, may have to see if there is much of a market in second hand colostomy bags. Saves getting up in the night and saves waking Mr GG as I clamber out of the bed whilst trying not to stub my toe on the wardrobe in my quest for the sanctuary of the bathroom.
My oh my, I nearly forgot. Today I got my mitts on two very shiny and very lovely £2 coins. I half inched them off Mr GG and added them to my secret stash. In total a not so whopping £12. When I get to £50 I'll pay them off a credit card balance. Not sure how long it will take me to get to the dizzy heights of fifty pounds, but its a target and I'm-a-sticking-to-it.
Hope everyone makes the most of the time off from work as no doubt you have all been working hard and there is nothing like a free four day weekend, to those in my club keep on looking for something, a job will turn up. The main thing is not to spend unless you have to! If you fancy a treat, try an Old Style treat. Why put the cash in someone else's till drawers when its better off in remaining in your own drawers! Or better still in the bank till's drawers as an overpayment on your credit card.
Until next time, til we meet again in Debt's Lair, however we are no longer on the bottom of it, we are the next rung up on the ladder and I think I see a very small light at the very very very top......** Proud to be dealing with my debts **LBM - Jan 2009 _pale_ : £24,802.21 :eek:February 2010 :silenced: : £18,078.47 (not including OD)July 2010= £16,819.34 (not including OD)

I bet you have things you can wear to interviews/new work anyway. If you're meeting new people they don't know you're wearing old clothes afterall0 -
Hi GG - How about if you allowed 20% for spends and 80% of the extra for debt? Would that work for you?
I do daily scratchcards etc so I have some money for luxuries - very few people (of my acquaintence anyway) manage the truly old style no spending thing... I know I am not one of them LOL!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
