You sound much better at relaxing than me. My idea of relaxing currently involves ignoring housework and playing spider solitaire in between job hunts, tests and the stuff that is too hard to ignore like making lunch. I've made a big batch of spag bol - I would like it to last 2 days which it probably will if I serve it and probably won't if OH does...

Really need to do a maths practice test but struggling to motivate myself - also got to pick up kids and go back and sign on even tho I went yesterday. GG GO AND SIGN ON OR AT LEAST RING UP USING THE INTERNET NUMBER. You paid in - now get your £60 or so a week back plus interview expenses... It's called national INSURANCE for a reason - now make that claim girl!

they can tell the genuine from the shirkers so don't worry - they have always treated me well... This is my 3rd time claiming since I started work - but I've never got to the point where I ran out of the 6 months I qualify for...

  • I'll call them on Monday when I am in my interview suit. I know they can't see it but it will make me feel proper! LOL.

    Well I haven' hoovered...... yet.

Have had lovely long soak in the bath. Utterly blissful.

Will go and get washing in off the line and put it away and then I'll have myself some dinner and waste the evening in front of the box (that is the television box and not the pizza box..... that would be ridiculous.... and I'd be sent straight to the nut joint).

*thinks just 5 more mins on MSE THEN I'll log off. Honest Guv I will*

    Hello all, so what's cooking?

Another glorious day in Debt-dom, though I don't feel half as bad about things when the sun is shining his shiny butt off.

I had quite a nice weekend, pretty DF actually. I paid my livery and spent a couple of coins on some carrots and apples. Spent a lot of the weekend in the saddle which was not bad, all exercise!

Mr GG was working, nothing unusual there.

Why oh why is there NEVER anything decent on the TV on a Fri or Sat night? So annoying, and I hadn't anything decent saved on my Sky + neither, so that was double annoying.

Have been for an interview today and it went well. Think I am being invited back for the next round. Only downside is that I don't think the offices have parking, so will have to weigh up options as I am not paying for parking 5 days a week. Will cost a fortune. Can see that I will have to find a little hideyaway spot to leave la voiture, probably outside some persons house. Hopefully they won't get ticked off about it. Will have to make sure its not some old dear who is at home all day, as I can imagine that this would annoy her.

Off in a mo to go and see an agency, so will reapply the lip gloss, rub away the crumbs of a Butterscotch Pecan Yum Yum away from my lips and I am away! Thought I deserved a little treat for doing so well in the interview. The interviewer and I got on well, we both had similar thoughts about things and I think I could fit into their company well, also I have had lots of experience in areas that they are looking for, so fingers crossed.

Currently deliberating as to tell the agency with the job on hold that I am through to second interview..... might shifty them along a little bit.

Not riding today, as not really got time. Horse can have a day off which will please horse greatly. I think horse thinks life as a field ornament is the ultimate blissful horseyness.

Mr GG is being very good and sticking to the new DFW ways in terms of the shopping and going out (eg: we don't shop and we don't go out! LOL). His credit cards are coming down slowly. At the mo, both of us can only afford the min repayments on the cards, however I am not increasing my debt and I don't think he is either so that is a step in the right direction. This time last year I'd be spending regardless, used to get such a buzz out of shopping and a buzz out of using my credit card. If only that buzz could have been an electric shock straight to the armpit whenever I got the urge to spend the credit card company's money, then I am sure that my balances wouldnt be quite so high. Thank heaven for small mercies, I have seen the light and the lightbulb is well and truly smashed. Woo Hoo.

Need to get a job though. It will happen, and soon. Any money you like, I'll get a job and I'll be like - oh I wish I had some free time! There's no pleasing me! Hee Hee.

I still haven't hoovered. Could not be bovvered. Me bovvered? No. Hoover bovvered? No. See noone's bovvered. Not even the carpet's bovvered. He's used to being "walked over" and not getting what he wants. OMG - my funny bone is outta control.

Postie has been and posted me another lovely Pinecone payment. Cool. That will go in the present stash/payment fund.

TTFN diary subscribers, lurkers and stalkers.... we know you are watching! Don't be shy, c'mon in and say hi.

Until the next installment...... keep that spending diary clear and full of NSD's.

    Update - yep another one!

Today I met a lovely lady who is going to have a trial run of sharing my horse. The plus points being that when I am working I don't have to worry like mad how I am going to get the horse exercised. Not to mention she'll give me a financial contribution. So we'll review things after the trial period and hopefully all will be fine and dandy and I'll have a few more quid to throw at the debt.

Mr GG has a strop on (S T R O P on and those of you that skim read may mistake the O for an A! But don't!) LOL. Not sure why. He is really humpy and short tempered. Wonder if he is just feeling the strain a bit. Esp as all his work pals are talking about the holidays they have planned and the two of us will be staying in Blighty. We wont be going away at all this year. We don't have the readies and with our new motto of, unless we have the cash we can't do it, then we seem to be staying on track and being realistic about what we can afford to do.

Chatting to Mr GG yesterday as we went for a walk, he reminded me that we have about 15 months or so to sort out debt out, as that is when our mortgage is up for renewing. I remember the last couple of times we had to go through the process, it was pretty embarrassing. Each time we met with the Financial chap we had to declare even bigger debt, and that includes even adding some of the credit card/loan debt on to our mortgage (I know this is daft and we wont do it again) but considering when we saw him last I had about £10k of debt and now I have over £20k I am somewhat ashamed. So much so, that the last time, I made sure I didnt go to the appt. Avoidance can be a beautiful thing.

Today I had a little email telling me I had sold a book on Green Metropolis. Boy, did that make my day! Just got to go to the darn Post Office now to send it second class and get a Proof of Postage Cert. Just hope that it doesnt cost a bomb to send it, or I may have to find someone who can post it for me!

Right now I should be job hunting. As I have had severe DFW Diary withdrawal over the weekend, I am making up for it now (I thought that the boards were not back up til Monday - how wrong was I?).

I have just shy of £40 due to me from TopCashback, though only £1.50 has come through as payable, I have £26 or so, as validated and the rest is still yet to being given the green light. Think I'll put that cash away in my savings and maybe pay off the evil mbna card.

Watched an excellent programme today (I had taped it), Scott Meets the Hoff on Living. Bonkers. Weird and Wacky. Love it. Really loved some of these reality shows. Some of them are really really bad and others are pure entertainment.

House still needs a big clean. The dog is moulting. I think its making the house whiff of Eau D'er Dawg. So will try the BiCarb route on the sofa as I think its that that is clinging on to the stench.

Only downside of not working is that I now notice all the annoying things that next doors kids get up to, even more so now its the holidays. Shouldnt let it bother me, but it does and I am sure that if the parents knew what their little ray of sunshines were upto then it would be stopped imminently. Yet I know that if one was to broach the subject with one's neighbours, one will start WW4 and the little angels can do no wrong. I have proof of this as I informed the parents that the kids were fighting with other kids from down the road. The reply "Oh I don't think so, they are all good friends", to which I replied "If my good friend hit me in the ribs with a stick I think I'd pin him down on the floor for a good kicking myself".

Mustn't dwell on such trivial things. Much more important things to worry about, such as where the next paycheck is coming from.

    I haven't signed on yet. I know I should, but I haven't.

Keep getting this awful sharp pains in my head. They come and go and have been doing so for the last 3 days. I have had my eyes checked but I dont think its that. If it continues I'll get it checked out. Probably nothing at all.

So another mega installment from me.......... boy do I waffle on.

Hmmmm waffles. Chocolate sauce and nuts on top please.

Gotta stop thinking about food. I want some crisps but the cupboards are bare, bare for snacky things at least.

Wishing you all a wonderful DFW day. May tomorrow be just as glorious. Good luck to those who are job hunting. Good luck to those who are refraining from the temptations of shoppingness and keeping those credit cards out of harm's reach. You know its the right thing to do.

    Until we meet again.........

    Hi GG

    Go to the doctor's/opticians

    SIGN ON !

    Then relax, job hunt etc!

    Signed mum XXX

Seriously - 1) sign on and 2) good news about the horse sharing that sounds sensible - what a great offer!

On the holidays and OH it is me in our house that always wants a holiday. It doesn't have to be abroad but I do like to do something.... so I do sympathise. I find it annoying to listen to other people's holiday plans. In my last job someone who reported to me had debts but didn't realise they were a problem... and had about 4 holidays abroad in a year... The amount of holidays that some DINKYs have always amazes me...

DINKY = dual income no kids yet

Hope your OH cheers up soon!

  • Thank you Mum.

Will make quack appt tomorrow. Hopefully its just my sense of humour trying to escape out of my brain.

Mr GG and I are DINKs. I love that term DINKS. Been meaning to use if for ages but haven't.

I think some of our problems were that we wanted to be true DINKS, living the high life, when our salaries were living the low life! So even though we both earn decent wages, compared to some we do earn rather well, but we have never really felt we benefitted from the extra income as any increase just went on paying off our ever increasing mountains of debt.

What I could do with £500 of disposable income a month. Imagine the savings I should have. Imagine the wardrobe I could have.

Your quote would fit us (just ignore the kids!)... since we bought our first house in the mid 90s we have always been in debt....

If I get a job again soon - we will be paying off £1K a month again and would be debt free (excluding mortgage and OH's student loan that he's never been asked to pay yet:rolleyes:) by next April!

We do need to upgrade our cars so that will slow us down a little at some point - but as soon as the CCs are gone - we are hoping to move to being mortgage free wannabees as we are currently on interest only! But imagine if we had £1K spare a month to do what we liked with - it would be amazing!
