    Hiya golden goose

Thought I'd pop in and say hello, well, you did pop into my diary!

Good luck on the interviews, will keep reading to see how you get on.

On the ebay front, anything equine sells really well, no matter how tatty! I need to get back to doing the ebay chore, not keen on it, but needs must!

  • Latest Update

Today was spent mostly enjoying a bit of leisure time - riding and walking the dog. Also thrown in for good measure was a bit of cleaning.... well a wife's gotta show a bit of willing now and again!

Latest news on the job front is that I have been asked to go back for another face to face meeting. Hopefully next week. So that is promising. Trying not to get too excited in case it all goes belly up.

Tomorrow I will be getting out anything remotely ebay-able ready to sell. Any tips on how you guys work out the postage? That is what puts me off. Do you offer insurance? I haven't on stuff I have sold before. Must remember not to go "window shopping" on ebay as that will defeat the object of selling my own useless odds and sods.

Did my sums today and check out my new signature - I dare ya! Have wiped my overdraft off plus another £500 or so off my debt. So we are getting there. Just need a job to keep on getting there!! I am also working for a friend of a friend next week so that pocket money will go towards the evil MNBA card. I tell you, I am never going to give any money ever again to MBNA........

House Insurance got sorted - reason it was so high was cos of a non fault claim on on policy - won't bore you with the details but its sorted now and we are paying £2 less a month than last year. Only downside - no cashback! Boooo Flipping Hoo.

Why on a Friday night is there Jack all on the TV? Nothing to watch on Sky even, let alone anything I have taped.

Mr GG wants me to do him some business cards - any ideas? Obv MSE and cashback ideas are very welcome..... other ideas.... errr are not so welcome!!

All in all, not a very exciting day in the Goose household. C'est la vie I guess.

    Until next time, be good.......

I am definitely with you on that one... I have an interview Monday - and don't laugh.... I would normally spend 2-3 hours preparing, reading up about the company and stuff and I am tired.... and just want to rest... I've got to do it tho... Not even read the job spec yet LOL

The first interview I had two weeks ago, I spent a whole afternoon preparing for. Researching the web..... writing out my notes eg: examples of how my skills and experience fit / matched their job description.

Also had answers prepared for tough questions they may ask, you know just the usual but hard to know what answer they want to hear.

Half of me figures, what will be will be.

  • Today's update

So far today I have not done much. Went out for a ride on my horse earlier. Have just had some breakfast. Running a bath at the mo.

I was watching a bit of TV but what with the cat asleep on the back of the sofa SNORING his head off, I have decided to try and be productive today instead. Hence I have booted the PC up for a quick surf. Then I am either going to pull all my junk out of the cupboards to decide what to ebay or I am going to make a headstart on the office, as there are papers and stuff that need filing away.

There is so much stuff on one shelf that the shelf has actually bowed! Must make sure that if I do tidy the office today that I don't chuck out anything that has been borrowed from any friends. Won't be too popular if we can't return these things.

Question for you Amazon peeps - is Amazon better for selling books than GM? I have got quite a few books that I would like to rehome. I know I could give them away but that is not very MSE and I am sure MBNA would rather have the dosh instead.

Chatting to Mr GG earlier and we may go out tonight. In itself that is a revelation, as I can't ever really be overly bothered to go out. I have lost my "social flair and need to party". Think its cos of the money, think its coso of that black cloud that springs up on me now and again. Mr GG said to me earlier "Blimey you ok, have you taken some happy pills?" Just have to make sure that by the time this evening comes round that I don't change my mind and prefer to stay under the duvet on the sofa watching naff TV.

Will take the muttley out for a mooch later on, that is free and keeps you healthy all in one! Unless you take crisps with you and consume them as you walk? Though some would say that eating whilst walking is surely going to cancel each of them out?

Am tempted to open the A&L bank account for the money, but I am not sure how it works with salaries and dd's etc as I want to keep them where they are really. Oh yeah - just remembered one small issue ! I don't have a salary any more! LOL.

Have sort of worked out that if I do get this job that I am in the running for that due to my whopping overdraft (though think that should really read - Overdraft = inability to budget and stick to it) that I wont have enough redundancy left to clear my MBNA card, it will shave some of it off, so in a way its all progress. Just wish it was better progress really.

I need to do a new budget and expenses sheet so I know what I have and haven't got. Though mainly it will be "haven't got". Mr GG suggested I make a list of what I can cut back on. I have a very quick and easy response to that "Nothing". At the mo, nearly all my salary goes into the joint account and what is left goes on my debts. Then anything that is left after that pays for my horse and my petrol. Usually at the end of the month I am having to put petrol on my credit card cos I am up to my overdraft limit or I am well over it.

Though on the plus side, I have cut back in certain areas - cheaper horse feed, less car journeys, always took a packed lunch to work. I never take my purse anywhere with me anymore unless its to get petrol. I don't do the "Oh I'll just drive to the tack shop for a browse and spend £40 on stuff". I don't do the "lets pop into town for a gorgeous coffee and cake" either. I really do only spend when I have to.

Am very proud of Mr GG, when he goes to the supermarket, he now comes back with more cheapo labels than he used to. Funnily enough, I get the cheap cheap brands for stuff I like or use and he has the shop's own brand - he can't quite bring himself to go mega low value. Its the snob in him.

I am also using my survey vouchers for up and coming birthday presents and I am also spending as little as I can on those too. Fortunately I spose I can use the "I don't have a job" card to explain reduced spends on presents for the time being.

Have no idea where the time goes. Just flies by.

Looks like I should really make a start on the office, cos if I start getting my ebay items out, then thats just more mess. More logical to start with the worst job first.

Will reward myself for today's efforts later with a yummy bag of crisps... or two. Can't quite keep to the one bag a day thingy.... it was two bags yesterday and two the day before. I'll end up looking like a bag of Ready Salted if I am not careful.

    Have a wicked weekend all.

Happy job hunting and interview preparation to those who need it - esp SH!

    Til we meet again........
