Hello everypeeps. Hope you are enjoying the sunshine and kicking back with your poison of choice. Personally, I think its Pimm's O'Clock!!!

This week I have earnt £60 - helping a couple of people out and being rewarded with some lovely purple readies. So that is a bit of a result.

In terms of jobs...... well.......... its all gone a bit.......... how can I put..... down the pan (notice polite terminology being used here - inside am screaming out of frustration!). The job that I was very keen on and seemed to be progressing onto the next stage etc, well, they have put all recruitment on hold for now. I will know in the next couple of weeks if the situation has changed and if there is still a role available.

I have an interview on Monday (so will spend Sunday swotting up and becoming candidate extroadinaire that they will want to invite back for second interview). Also seeing an agency on Monday as they have asked to see me. Today I applied for another role I found out about via a couple of contacts (its not what you know, but who you know kids!).

So I am on the job hunt good and proper again, not taking nowt for granted, well I didnt really before, cos I knew that til I had a contract in my sweaty paws that nowt was a given. But, I lived in hope. Though it seems hope is a fantasy in a whole different land. The land of the jammy dodgers where everything falls into your lap on a silver plate through the use of sheer willpower.

Been a right lazy doodlebug today, well not completely.... rode my horse today, have been to see some friends who cheered me up greatly and now I am on here. My MSE visits are supposed to be fleeting, yet they seem to last for hours! In particular I like to spend time on the DFW diaries and the Freebies/Comps boards - keying away like a woman possessed! Though I never win anything, but have been lucky with a sample or two!

Still havent posted off the mobiles to MoPay, will do, once Mr GG is outta sight just in case he decides that they would be better off staying in a drawer completely unused and wasting away........ instead of in my pocket as a few quid in M&S vouchers.

Its been a spectacular day weather wise and I didnt do any washing (clothes that is - I showered and beautified oneself earlier). Having a bit of a lazy day..... quite enjoying being a kept woman, though the "money naggers" appear every now and again and remind me that being jobless won't pay the mortgate, let alone my debt off.

If only if only if only. Dwelling on the if only's won't pay the debt off... though sometimes its nice to wallow in self pity I find. However, self pity is often moved on somewhere else by a short sharp pointy toe up the behind and when I remember that I AM dealing with my debts and the payments are going down and I am NOT adding to the debt I have, then I feel all holier than thou........ Get me eh? Holier than thou? Well, feeling all mature and responsible.

When I look back on my CC statements (during my spending frenzy), boy did I spend. I was racking up loads - petrol, shopping, horsey stuff, nights out, weekends away, being super generous with birthday presents.... you get my drift? Scary or wot. I knew I was outta control as I couldn't bring myself to open my statements. Hello LBM on the horizon, like an Oasis in the desert!

Yesterday was a NSD for me. I resisted temptation to buy a mega pricey coffee, so that was good for me. Though I have splashed out a fiver today on some lunch, cos I felt I deserved a treat. BUT I have to add that I could have spent a lot more, but I went for an economical treat of what I was able to afford rather than what I wanted. Previously, I never ever ever looked at the costs of things. I just spent. I got what I wanted at whatever cost. However the cost being in the longrun, is my sanity and my overdraft as I wasnt earning enough to cover my outgoings. Fear not, the whirlwind of living beyond my means is no more, and I am very focussed on repaying my debt. If I post about buying something that is frivolous or outrageous, feel free to put me back in check.

Well, well, look at the time. Better get on and do something. Think I'll watch a bit of TV and rest my weary bones. I am pretty tired and will keep today as a treat day and spend it watching naff TV and by supping a bit of fizzy stuff.

Til the next installment...... keep cutting out the coupons (yet they do need to be taken to the supermarket to be redeemed! We keep forgetting!), keep surfing MSE and keep your spends low and soon, very soon, we shall all be that small step closer to be reaching our dreams of being Debt Free. Unless of course, I happen to find the winning lotto ticket......... then it wont just be my Debt Free dream I'll be living!!!!

HI GG good luck with Monday's interview... I've had the experience of jobs going on hold too.... Tuesday's interview is for a job I applied for about 8 weeks ago!

Hi Mrscmr - hope your ebay is successful for you and that you are having a good debt busting time....

I've had a good but busy week... hoping tomorrow is a lot less stressful than today - I had an interview (2 hour commute plus 1.5hours) then Job Seekers (another 1.5 hours gone) then picking up the kids from school then a networking event following by the weekly grocery shop. Talked to 4 agencies plus had 2 calls to an outplacement consultant... Oh the carefree life of the modern woman - NOT! I had breakfast and tea only I was that busy!!!!

  • Today' Update (well there is no point writing about tomorrows as I am not psychic!)

Another early start, with my horse and dog walking. Once the cloud burns off, its going to be another lush Spring day. The dog decided to play silly beggars half scaring me by deciding on the way home to take itself home of its own accord, there I was calling for it as thought it had gone off following a scent. Minor scary moment til Mr GG called me to tell me the neighbour's could see the naughty wotsit waiting for me on the doorstep. Grrrrr.

Have let the housework slip a bit, well slipped so much, that I need a ladder to get on top of it again. I will and today is the day I shall. Washing machine is on its second load (30deg and on the line outside). Have put into piles the remainder of the laundry basket, so its ready to go. May run out of drying space, that is my only problem. Could resort to putting the airer outside s'pose.

Upstairs needs a good hoovering really. Hate lugging the sodding hoover up the stairs, has a mind of its own and ends up just bashing and crashing around the place.

My mobile won't take any pics, so that has scuppered my ebaying, as I can't list anything without a picture. So very frustrating.

Today I need to do more job hunting. One role I applied for and I included a CV and covering letter, well, would you believe it, they replied asking me to fill in an application form and, I quote "send in your CV". Err hello, I already did..... stoooopid. So class case of not reading emails properly and just replying to them all robot fashion. Very blooming helpful. I think not.

Mr GG is out working, such a good boy. Bringing home the bacon so he is. I reckon I'll have to think about temping if I am not able to secure a FT job soon. Don't mind temping really, the money can be ok but it would be much nicer just to be able to start afresh in a new job right away.

Decided not to go for the A&L account to get the cashback and incentive. Sounded far too complicated and the little cogs in my little brain couldn't work out if it was going to be a good thing or not, and after reading on the other boards about A&L I figured it would be better not to bother. Then I remembered that I don't have a salary to pay in anyway! LOL.

Contemplating JSA. The thought of going down to our local centre fills me with dread.

Mr GG thinks the cat seems a bit "ginger" on his peg legs. I wonder if he has hurt his back or done something daft. That is all we need. I notice Mr GG has left it for me to decide if the cat needs the vet (which anyone with half a brain cell can figure out that this means that if I take the cat to the vet I'll have to pay for the consult - crafty crafty chap). Anyone see that documentary about vets? Half of them are on the flipping make! More about biz than animal welfare, I tell thee. Have decided to give the cat a day at home "under house arrest" and will review the situation then.

Right I'd better go I can hear the washing machine calling me to tell me its finished its cycle. Perhaps I'll have Chinese for my tea tonight, will match the Chinese Laundry look that I've got going on today!

Until next time..... enjoy your weekend, try not to have a melt down about the Forum being off limits - we can survive without it. Honestly, we can (I hope....and pray).

As part of your survival kit, I recommend you have:
    • Alcopop tipple of your choosing
    • Profiteroles
    • Easter Eggs
    • Comfy PJ's and Bed Socks
    • Duvet on the sofa
    • Soft lighting
    • DVD
    • oh and if you can manage it, recommend something savoury like Pringles or Pork Scratchings!

I'm liking the sound of your survival kit, I will omit the pork scratchings and substitute salt and vinegar crisps!

I need to do housework too, but it's unlikely to happen in a thorough manner if the sun is shining. The lure of the horse and all that....

  • Which is why I try and do the horse thing before anything else. As then my horse fix has been met and I have no excuses.... yet I have found the following so far:

Internet surfing - jobs entwined with social sufing, entwined with MSE
Catching up with pals via IM or text (though IM is better - as its FREEE)
Going to have a bath as feel grimy from the yard and dog walking
    Going to have some lunch
Going to watch some TV whilst I eat lunch

So may other things to be doing than doing the housework, esp as I have the rest of the day to do it in. We'll see.........
