  • Update du jour

Well knock me down with a frickin' feather if that sun ain't been out shining its little rocks off. What a beautiful day.

Typically I was rushing round from place to place, without a second to kick back and relax. Will make up for it tonight for sure, watching The Apprentice (no nice looking men this time around. Is it me or does Margaret remind you of Sandy Toskvig?) and then Desperate Housewives.

The sun makes me feel all holiday-ey, yet also makes me feel grand that we are not spending out on a holiday, so we are not increasing our debt as we don't have the funds to pay for one ourselves. Gone are the days where I used to feel like a rich chick when Mr MBNA paid for all my holidays. Going forward, I'd rather be able to pay for it myself. Cash. Or with vouchers. Not fussy.

Interview today seemed to go quite well. Was in there for quite awhile. As soon as I hear, you guys will be in the know too. Be prepared with the stern kick up the "there is more work out there and you'll get a job type" lectures if this opportunity looks like its not at all rosey.

Its all a bit strange because I used to have an IF card. I cancelled it. Today I got a statement saying I am a penny in credit. I checked out the T&Cs and it says that balance transfers are at just shy of 13%. So one's MSE DFW brainy-o is trying to figure out if its worth removing the balance from the evil MBNA to the IF card. Not sure if there is a BT fee.... what do you think?

Secondly, how long are chq's valid for? I thought it was 6 or 12mths? Mr GG thinks its forever. Now I am sure he is wrong. Again, anyone help?

Have made mental note to investigate McDeady eg: discover real name and any websites where I can stare at his McLoveliness and McBeauty - OMG once again that sounds sooooooooooooooo dodgy. He is in PS I Love You with fake phoney Irish accent, still cute though.

Finally posted my GM book. Cost me £1.04 to post off and so it made me £1.96. Not exactly going to turn me into the next Richard Branson, which is fine by me as I have never really suited facial hair, lets not even mention how those teeth of his would clash with my cheekbones!!!!!

Mr GG is still working very hard and am very thrilled with him. Will be nice to crash out on the sofa together with him, no doubt the dog will try and squeeze itself on their with us. Think Krypton Factor and you'll be on the right lines.

Anyone watch Gok's Fashion Fix? Loving the 24 piece wardrobe. However, I'd still want more clothes. I'd get bored of those after awhile, not to mention he threw away ALL the woman's comfy chillaxing outfits. A girl MUST have joggers, tracky pants of PJ bottoms to lush around the house in. Its a crime not to have.

Just a short entry in the diary today. Am pooped. So pooped it took me almost 20mins to eat a WHOLE Cadbury's egg. I must be tired.

Take it easy out there in Credit CrunchVille. Fight the desire and need to fuel your life on credit. Its not real money. So easy to spend and so bloody horrific to pay back. Don't do it. Step back from your purse. Leave the CC alone. You. Do. Not. Need. It.

    Til the next installment..........

    Bonkers or BiPolar?

Luckily the black clouds that haunt me from time to time seem to be on a vacation of their own. Totally not complaining. As feeling quite chipper-fan-flipping-tastic at the mo. Even if I am jobless. In some ways I am even happier than when I had my job! Go figure.

Quick close the curtains, get some 80s disco tunes on loud and dance dance dance a la Grey's. Should help fight the clouds off.

    You go girl ipod.gif:D
What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
  • LOL

That looks just like me - except my disco moves involve compulsory MC Hammer pants.

Hope you had a really good day today. I must admit I have been quite happy while I've been off where previously I've been troubled by the black clouds too... I do feel cold and shivery and have a toothache today tho which is not good!

  • My Most Recent Installment and My Quest is Gonna Take a Bit Longer....

Happy Friday to everyone. Hope your pre-weekend day is just ticketyboo.

Received a letter today from the interview this week, saying I didn't get it. Along with usual professional Dear John, thanks but no thanks, now bog off. I have mixed feelings really. In reflection, the job was ok. Not amazing. Did not tickle my fancy, did not make me think, OMG if I don't get it then.... then what will I do? If it had been offered I would have taken it, cos we need the dollars. So why do I feel a bit let down and blue?

Mr GG says its cos I think that I should be offered every job. Hell its their loss - his words not mine. He thinks maybe the salary I was after could have been a deciding factor as out of the band they were offering I would only accept the max amount. Perhaps they got a cheaper version of me!Then he came home with a special lunch for me : Sushi, large gingerbread man and a crunchie. Now that's love for you. Then his parting words were "give the house a hoover!".... LOL. Which obviously I haven't done. Still contemplating it. I might. I might not. Get me all women's lib. "Go do your own hoovering mister!"

Hormones maybe messing me around a bit at the mo. This is also probably the reason why I seem to be OBSESSED by food. If its in the kitchen and it looks remotely edible then its chomped!

I have another interview lined up, stage one. Again, mooooooore prep. So takes it out of you. Worse than cramming for exams.

Last night I...... signed on. Yep. Gone and Done IT. Got my interview next week, so that will be delightful. Outside our JC is where the local "cheapo cider connessieurs" like to spend their day. Will remember to take peg for one's nose as they do smell a bit ripe and we're not talking ripe cider apples neither.

Have had a lovely long soak. In the bath. Equally almost got completely soaked through walking the dog. Dog had great time swimming in the river. Dog is now stinking out the house. Totally wrinkled like a prune - me not the dog. Got to feed the doglet and the cats. Then sort out dinner. Was going to then sit down with a glass of grape juice (fermented juice, naturally - it is Friday night!) and watch GA as I missed it last night. Notice I said WAS. Well, the Sky+ never had it selected to tape it. Mega disappointed. Now I am a week behind and not had my GA fix.

Am sure my blue, slightly tinged black cloud that is lurking, will soon swan off elsewhere. Hope that its a temp cloud and not about to turn into a full on thunder storm wuth black threatening clouds. Knew it was too good to be true, knew my upbeat mood couldn't last. As Isaac Newton said "What goes up must come down"..... Its a combination of being over tired, exhausted and hormonal..... and I've not really spent any real cash lately, so not even the glint of a £2 coin could cheer me up, all my purchases have been by DD. Notice i said DD and not CC. CC spending is a thing of the past.

Still not phoned IF. Should do that.

The contribution from my sharer I may put towards my evil MBNA card. That is my thinkings.

I also want to spend some time on the OS thread. We also want to buy a Steam Cooker. Any cashback sites recommended for any? All suggestions taken! If I had a laptop least I could multitask and watch TV at the same time as surf. One day when I can afford a laptop I will.

That reminds me. Anyone want to tell me about daily scratchcards??

That's all folks from me today. In a strange way MSE, the forums and the diaries have cheered me up. Its good to get it down on paper (so to speak, clears the head of the fuzz of fretting). Trust me its all good all good.

Be good out there in debt-dom. Don't let the creditors get you down, pay them off as soon as you can and vow never to use a CC every again (unless you can clear your account completely and remain interest free). I think schools should have money management classes for the kiddywinks. Not saying that it would necessarily have saved me from debt's dark lair but perhaps I could have developed the mindset of "its not your money you are spending" much sooner. Hmm. We'll never know will we.

Take care and til the next installment...........
