Hi GG!

Hey Mrs GG is back!
A job will come when you least expect it! I have every faith!
Just a quickie as got a hectic night ahead! Have a good night xx0 -
The Latest Update
Morning all - regulars, newbies, shybabies - Happy Friday to you all.
Woke up bright and early, no alarm clock needed, too flipping hot - and not due to any bedroom aerobics neither! LOL. The sun is officially S.H.I.N.I.N.G and I love it.
Already done some chores today - all pet related ones anyhoo.
Yesterday I went into the local town to run some errands. Posted my book to the lucky buyer, yet after it costing me £1.85 to post I am not sure earning £1.15 is really much of an incentive to keep going with GM. Anyone any experience of selling secondhand books on Amazon?
The lady that does my beautywork also works in a local department store and said I should pop in as she reckons a product they sell would improve my skin - and I need all the help I can get!! Whilst I was there talking to her about said products, she gave me a makeover! Love it!!!! So spent rest of the afternoon swanning round the town with flawless chops. When Mr GG came home later on, he thought I'd been out on a hot date due to ones new war paint. I didnt even ask how much the new wonder stuff costs as its a luxury I sure cannot afford right now.
Talking of luxuries, I still think I may treat myself to a laptop. There are lots of reasons and I think I would be able to spend a lot more time online if I had a laptop, whereas at the minute, our home PC seems to get more antique by the minute and anything you do on it is positively painful. I would consider the laptop to be an investment for sure. I know Mr GG would like it, though whether I ALLOW him to use it, well, is in fact, another matter all together.
Still no news from the job agency, so not sure what is going on there. I think that most agencies are sinking under the volume of available candidates and that they just cant match them to vacancies, purely cos the number of vacancies really are few and far between.
Mr GG suggested I change career, all well and good but if I need to go to college for new career training or whatever, who funds our living? Oooh I wonder if I could be an MP??? No need for a second home, they can just pay for this one! Man - I am a real SPARK when it comes to bright ideas.
OMG. I nearly forgot. Our big news. Bigger than anything else you could ever imagine. Seriously........ it really is....... THAT exciting. More exciting that Britain's Got Talent (Britians Got Mainly Zero Talent)...............
Yep - you got it.
We have got a SLOW COOKER!!
Exactly, I knew you'd all be as excited as us. So now the first conundrum. I need a recipe. I have a slow cooker recipe book that I purchased in anticipation of ever buying a slow cooker and now its here (twas a gift) that I don't know what to put in it.
Key things for any recipe suggestions are:
Must be dead simple (and I mean simple, as I get confuggled easily)
Must be cheap and MSE
Must be super-lushious and super-impressivo as want to WOW Mr GG's taste buds.
So gals, hit me with your suggestions?
Better get off, another busy day ahead. I tell you, I don't have time for a job, my life is crazy hectic right now.
Be good, be money savvy, and whatever you NEED to buy, always consider can you buy it CHEAPER? Bet your last £2 coin that you can!

Hiya Mrs G-G!!!!!
We have a slow cooker - and it is fab!! I only use it for casseroles though - I know there is a whole host of other things you can do in it, but I've never got round to them!!
I do beef casserole as follows:
Stewing beef, onion, carrot, parsnip, celery, leek, & a pint of beef stock, in it all goes, leave it for 7/8 hours and presto!! Yummy casserole! I stir it occasionally, & sometimes add mushrooms half way though (dont add mushrooms at the beginning or they will literally mush)
Chicken casserole - depending on if using raw or already cooked chicken (ie leftover from roast) if raw - pretty much same as above. (substituting chicken stock for beef stock) If cooked, add the chicken about 3 hrs into the cooking time. As it is already cooked, it doesnt need as long or it will disintegrate!!
Hope that helps, I am a real novice in the kitchen & even I can manage these! I'm sure there are lots of threads on the OS board as well.....plenty to read!0 -

The latest update
Cor blimey guv'nor its a hot one today.......!!
Did I tell you all that the company that I was interviewed with and kept me waiting for an hour, finally had the decency to get back to me to tell me that they had done third interview the week prior with the guy who the job reports to (and I wasnt even invited to it) and............ guess what? Yep the internal candidate got it.
I kindo of knew this was going to happen. The recruitment agency told me that they were sorry that I was treated so badly by the client. Er hello.... they also treated me very badly. They then asked if I would be interested in agency work, to which I replied, er yes obviously. I am one seriously skint and desperate for work, to which they then replied, oh ok but we dont really get any temp positions. !!!!!!!!! Why on earth even mention blooming temping then you silly moo.
Arrrghhhhhhh - boy did I scream.
Today Mr GG and I have done nothing but row by phone. He is stressed out as I am unemployed and was trying to find out what my plans are for today, which if you unravel the question and translate from MAN TALK into plain sodding English is "I am checking up on you cos you don't seem to be doing very much about getting a job, I mean you have not mentioned agencies or any jobs for awhile and really you should be trying a lot harder to find something and I seriously think that you should consider travelling to our nearest city (over an hour away) to work there."
My response is utterly and completely not suitable for repeating or publishing on here. Put it this way. Mr GG called me back (once I'd done the compulsory hanging up on him mid sentence) to apologise. He said he is sorry, he knows its not easy, he'll back off and leave me to get on with it. On my time frame, leaving me to get on with it means he will be hassling me again next week.
I shall spread my job hunting wings further afield to another town and so am on the case there, got a list of agencies to email and contact. Though saying that, the local agencies I have emailed my CV through to have not even come back to me. Some I have even called up to harrass and still - nothing. I don't see what else I can do to get their attention and to get them to contact me - except streak through their offices or summat?
On the MSE front, I sold another book on GM. Though can I find the bleeding book that I need to post. Nada. Will have another looksee for it in a mo.
As I have not been on email much this week I have missed out on a few surveys which has narked me. My own fault, so only have myself to blame. I have simply been too busy.
That's all folks for now. Sorry not much news of any real value to report. I do hope that this will change pretty soon, otherwise there will be uproar in the Golden Goose Household and blood will be spilt!! Arrghhhhh.
Lovely weather, hope all you office workers are taking your MSE HM lunches to work and not spening money on fancy sarnies and salads that cost at least double the cost of making your own. Keep your money in your own pockets and tummies!!!!

Totally get the 'man speak' version of checking up on you!
i'm in the same boat (but without the interviews) and constantly get asked what are your plans for the days & the OH gets all huffy about housework - can't job hunt & housework!!
not that he did ANYTHING in the house when he was made redundant...but of course thats different!!!!
anyway.....its now time for cuppa in garden followed by afternoon nap after all best make the most of the sunshine!!! theres only a mountian range of ironing that needs doing....hardly important!I do not make mistakes, I learn lessons.I work to live, not live to work.I love to live & live to love.Good enough is exactly that.0 -
