    Hi Mrs GG,

Glad you thought the interview went well, all you can do now is play the waiting game! Ah the old electric window trick, I once nearly had my OH running after my car as I drove away as he was closing the door and his hand was still on the handle! Poor guy, he looked so shocked! Hope you gave him an extra cuddle to make up for it! Have a nice night x

    The latest installment

How's it hanging guys and gals?

Time flies when you are unemployed. Seriously, I don't know where the time really does go! One minute its beginning of May and the next we are nearly the back end of the month! Scary Mary.

Thanks for all your lovely, gentle pokes reminding / luring me to post.

I don't really have any new news. Still no news from the job I went for the other week, so no idea if I have been tossed out with the trash or if I am still in the running. If I am in the running still, well, let's just say, that I ain't too impressed with them if this is the way they communicate!! Hardly makes them come across as an attractive proposition.

Have not found one other job worth applying for. Though have contacted an agency about temping for them, so that will be what I will be doing. Mr GG is mega on my case about working/temping. He is turning into a right old nagster, I duly reminded him, that is my job, I am the woman! Him putting pressure on me, doesn't motivate me, it does everything but. I want to hide under the duvet and pretend its all not happening, cos when he is worried and putting the heavies on me, instead of panicking and reacting positively, it makes me want to hide. Not very mature I know!

Since I last posted, I have managed to find and save some more £2 coins - so how's that!! Pretty good. I now have £22 worth squirreled away.

I also tallied up my debts again recently and we have made progress!

    So it was:

    January 09

    M&S - £1,292.32
    Citi - £3,920.04
    Virgin - £11,311.83
    Cahoot - £535.62
    N Rock - £4,690.40
    Overdraft - £1,750

    Total : £24,802.21

    May 09

    M&S - £1,159.52
    Citi - £3505.06
    Virgin - £4,096.42
    Halifax - £6,205.32
    Tesco - £2,675.65
    Cahoot - £100.57
    N Rock - £3,736.25
    Overdraft - BIG FAT ZERO

    Total : £21,478.79

The Virgin card balance has been split up and transferred to Halifax and Tesco, so that is saving me some dosh on the APRs as Virgin/MBNA are having a laugh with their "pick any numner of of the sky and treble" calculations.

Most importantly, I don't want to go back in to my Overdraft, I have been really good and not used my Virgin card this month at all. In April I think I used it for petrol. Aside from this I haven't used it. I have refrained from any and all mad impulse buys.

Today as I was driving along, like an OAP to conserve fuel, that it was three years agao that I took out my NR loan for £10k. Most of it was used for a consolidation and the rest I think, I spent willy nilly. Now look at me. I am never ever going to consolidate debts again. It don't help noone, except the company giving you the loan.

I am fighting the urge, and its a big urge, to not buy a mini laptop. I so want one and it would be so flipping useful but I am resisting. So far, I have resisted. I pray for some self control to be bestowed upon me, and upon me real soon.

So we have progress as the debt is going down quicker than a hooker's knickers!. I am a bit worried as I am not in work that I may end up getting back into more debt, but I am determined not to.

This weather is playing havoc with my horse! I said to Mr GG that my horse is not wearing a rug today and now its peeing down, Mr GG's response : " well thats good, surely, cos then your rug won't get wet" Such a bright spark is my Mr GG. Real bright. Duh.

I have been spending my time walking the dog, riding the horse and the odd blitz on the housework. One room needs a real good going through, I know its a least a whole day's worth. Not sure I have it in me yet to even begin tackling it. Though the sense of achievement when I have done it will be immense I am sure. Let's hope that motivation arrives real soon.

Today has been spent mostly..... eating. Not good. Have been eating naughty things, though I am hoping my exercise today will counter balance it.

My thought for the day is....... don't spend someone else's money. I know this is not a new thought and is one that I have mentioned before, but I feel its a good enough one to repeat, again and again. Spending on a credit card is someone else's money. Not to mention that the price you buy your "must have item" at, well, by the time you pay it off your card, could end up costing you hundreds of pounds more that it did originally.

    Profound? Nope.

    Logical? Yep.

Common Sense. Bingo Bango - you got it in one.

Til the next installment....... and I promise I won't leave it as long next time.
