Hi GG - well done on the second interview. Not surprised JSA didn't backdate but you can still appeal - say you didn't understand the process. At least you get it from here on in tho! Don't forget to claim the interview expenses in advance of going to the interview (and fill in the second form after to say you've been). Get everything you can out of them!

Don't beat yourself up about temping. I have done a series of longish but interim jobs and it gets really wearing. I think I may have got a perm job sooner if I had just held out longer.... So go from where you are now... Will taking a temp job take you closer to your dream job or further away? How else would you use your time? How much do you need the dosh?

Hope that helps - have a great day

I may try an appeal, though wont be holding my breath.

In hindsight, would be nice to have the redundancy cash squirreled away somewhere so that I could knock it off the debts, alas its been spent on surviving!

A temp job would just bring some cash in. Not sure what my dream job is really. I know what I am good at and I'd like to get to the top of my game in that field and I know that I can do it. Its a case of the right opportunity arising.

If at the end of this month I have no permanent job offer, then I will have to temp otherwise we risk serious financial screw ups and I dont want to have to start paying debt with debt and getting in a real pickle and possibly defaulting. That is worse case scenario of course.

Think I'll send an email off to the people that put the job on hold to see if there has been any movement

Thanks for your advise. Its certainly made the old cogs creak a bit.

    Hi Mrs GG,

I've temped before and it was really a means to an end, got me into my current company and I was able to move around to my current job. I work in admin so wasn't too fussed about temping, at least it paid the bills. You could temp but keep trying for interviews, you've probably said but what kind of work do you do? x

Good choice of word there L.

Indeed it does feel like I try to "survive" interviews. However, the more I do, the less scary they seem.

I try to continue to be myself, as there ain't no point otherwise. No point projecting that I am what I am not. As lets face it, then its a huge disappointment for them and I end up pig sick and constantly gorging on Kettle Chips and Vin Blanc in a bid to drown my miserableness.

    My thoughts too.

Will see what occurs with the interview this week and if its a no go, then I'll put feelers out to begin temping PDQ.

Sadly, life at the mo, is ALL about the money. Show me the money!!! Or at least, show me where I can earn it!!!
