Hope you get something soon SH, but it all sounds quite promising - still not great till you're in a job and the money's coming in I know. at least you have time to tidy up before MIL descends...

BAD NEWS didn't get the job. Was the best external candidate but they offered the job to the internal candidate despite the agency having eliminated the individual in an earlier round of interviews!!! Very sad, down and frustrated!

The agency have suggested I phone the senior manager for feedback and stress how much I wanted the role - ask them to consider me for other similar roles and give me any useful suggestions on how to do better in future. The agency said having seen the marking sheets for all the candidates they would have given me the job - so it is nothing I did wrong as such they just showed preference for the internal candidate. It is hard not to feel angry as well as frustrated as it was so patently unfair! There is a faint possibility tho that if I handle the phone call well something positive could come out of it in the longer term. I "passed" the interview as such.... if there were 2 roles (which there were originally) I would have got one....

I do have an interview tomorrow for a 6 month job - but it is a long commute and much worse money so not ideal... Hard to know what to do for the best - whether to just hold out for the perfect perm job or whether to take interim roles.... The agency have promised to carry on putting me forward for jobs at the right level - they still believe in me and are very frustrated on my behalf. doesn't change the outcome tho!

    Argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On a lighter note - my MIL gave us £100 today more than paying for DS's school uniform and gave my DS £40 spending money for a holiday he is having shortly! She also paid for us all to have a meal out at pizza hut so that was nice!

I also got £11 in clubcard tokens today helping me towards my £10 a day challenge! My £5 Amazon voucher from bingoport also arrived!

    Bye for now....

How frustrating  - you really deserved the job! The good thing is you are obviously a very good candidate. Hope the phone call goes well.

Now need to get back into interview mode and research the company in double quick time... I also need to find what I did with my interview suit.... Now where did I put it LOL?!

Oh sorry to hear about the job SH, that is so frustrating. You would think if the internal candidate was in line for the job they would just give it to them, guess they need to be seen to be 'fair' by advertising outside, that's a laugh. Hope your call goes well tomorrow. Good luck with the other interview, keep your head held high! x

Thanks Swinstie - I am still spitting feathers! LOL!

I've redone my snowball to try and motivate myself for tomorrow's interview..... Problem is that it is significantly less money than last weeks job and only for 6 months!

Still researching - Still need to get my stuff ready for tomorrow too!

So sorry you didn't get the job. You really deserved it and it doesn't seem fair at all that the internal person got it.

Hi CMD and Tea and other lurkers!

Talked to the agency again - my overall score was higher than the person they gave the job to which just shows what a fix it was.

Never mind. Had an interview for a short term job today - will hopefully find out tomorrow whether or not I have got that one. I think that one would start within a matter of days if I did!

I've also set up my appointment for the feedback call - but earliest slot was the end of next week so not much I can do on that until then!

Hope you all have a good day! It is raining here....
