Glad you managed to get your tree up - not done my tree yet - had a very relaxing day today - we went out Christmas shopping - annndddd managed to miss all the crowds - had a lovely carvery lunch out with dh (I decided not to go out on Christmas do from work but to spend the cash I would have spent on me and dh instead) - after that we walked along the sea front in the sunshine then watched it set - best Christmas shopping day I think I've ever had.
I was going to write my Christmas cards but am on here instead - ho-hum!!
MilannJanuary spends - £587.580 -
Sounds like you had a lovely day
I've put fake pine branches all up the bannisters and wrapped a few more pressies, loaded the dishwasher, looked after kids alone all day while OH out with mates - had an NSD!
I think really I do need to try and look for another job after xmas as this job isn't paying enough... I am about £300 short on take home pay compared with previous jobs and at least £200 per month worse off due to fuel costs.... So really struggling to make the extra payments I want toAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

My DD was gorgeous as Mary in the church play.
Grocery shop done - £72 - was pleased with that. Had a lovely roast chicken dinner -yum.
I've got both kids sorting out their rooms today. Chucking an old freecycle bed away and moving DS's old bed into my study so can let him have his new bed early. DD has filled nearly 3 bags of stuff to give to the poor children.... DS had done a reasonable job on his bedroom but strangely when we started to take his bed out - we found lots of muck and junk  under his bed so he has been given a bin bag so he can start dealing with all that.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
OH has been to the tip with part of the other bed (it felt very bed buggy:eek::eek::eek:) which is why we are not onward freecycling. Planning to wash all the bedding on 60 degrees in the hope that that will kill the blighters! He will have to break up the divan bit before he can fit it in our car.
DS is going to a party at youth group tonight so that will be nice for him and hopefully make the house a little more peaceful while he is out....
I've told DD that there will be no room for xmas presents unless she does a clearout - and the fact her room is so messy is a sign she doesn't need any.... Strangely she has set too with a vengance (for a 6 year old):rotfl:Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

:hello: SH - you're being extremely productive and tidy aren't you! Agree re bed, not sure how long you're supposed to have a mattress for before replacing it?

Hi IMD - I have monitored the content of the bags she's giving away - and am pleased with her choices - nearly 3 bags cleared out.:T
Well we have got DS's new bed up - it was slightly bigger than we planned so had to turn his chest of drawers sideways but it still works LOL! :rotfl:He is thrilled to bits...:j:j He's been given a new bed sheet and I have put an extra blanket on the mattress to pad it out a bit.... (he has to wait for his cushions until xmas tho)! His old bedding is now all in the wash now - I am going to check whether the bedding is then thick enough not to need a mattress topper or not!
His old bed is now in my study but is incredibly creaky  as well as the mattress being rubbish  - so might aim to get a new bed in the January sales for my study/guest room. I will try and make sure that it is long enough so that if he outgrows his day bed (literally) in a few years that it will fit him... Depends whether there are long enough beds out there! He's due to be at least 6foot2 :eek:when he finishes growing - my nephew is that now at 16 so it is feasible that DS will be!
I gave DD an early xmas present - some brushes - and she was thrilled to bits bless :rotfl:She's a good kid!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

It sounds like a busy day for you all, and well done on DD on learning clutter clearance, it definitly needs training from an early age.
Thanks for info on bingoport, just requested my first amazon voucher, and was going to have a go on the wicked wheel (it sounds intrigueing), but then investigated the advent calendar and won 1500 pp's, so couldn't. Next time (if I get enough points, do the amazon claim then the advent calender), still a goodie, and hubby has a massive amazon wish list
But it saves on his treats budget
!
I think the advent calander only went live today for 12 days, you access it via promotions, I know you're a regular, just didn't want you to miss it.0 -
Sounds like you had a lovely weekend SavingH. Your DD was privileged to play Mary. It is a much coveted role at that age. Bet she was gorgeous!

hi cmd and se
Yeah DD was priviledged to play Mary - was pleased for her
Yeah I got 1500 points on the advent calendar - really chuffed
However came home early today as had bad fall at work and have bruised elbows, knees and shoulder - in a lot of pain too - so goodness knows what state I will be in tomorrow. Bath helped at the time but bits of me are already blue!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
