Hi belle - lovely to see you - hope you are okay too!
Well my friends came back from Ikea - they spent £140 rather than the £245 plus petrol money I envisaged - they got cheaper slats £25 cheaper :money:and a cheaper mattress about another £85 cheaper :money:- and they used my £15 vouchers and didn't take any petrol money off me :money:so I got £125 cash back! How fab is that:T:j:T Just hope the mattress works ok now.... Figure I can always put a quilt under his sheet or somethings if the mattress isn't quite deep enough... It is the front metal bits on the day bed that are potentially going to be tricky. Ikea recommend 20cm deep and it is only 18cm! Confusingly they display it with a 17cm deep mattress:rolleyes:
I feel so relieved tho - it is back to costing a reasonable amount of money!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hi,
If the mattress isn't thick enough IKEA used to do mattress toppers (like a thin mattress), which are only a few cm's thick. We've used them with thick covers on the mattress to stop dust mites, then the topper is thin enough to vacuum thoroughly, and easy to turn.0 -
hi verbatim and se999
yeah ikea sell mattress toppers for £19 for 2cm and £39 for 4cm so may end up getting one of them. Will check mattress is comfortable enough first.
