  • If I'm honest, I think if the job is right for you you will feel it worth the sacrifices to go for it. Sometimes all the doubts/potential problems are actually masking the fact that deep down we feel that it's not the right path to take...

Bottom line is, if it's not the right thing for you and for your family (ie you're going to be stressing about the journey, leaving the kids etc) then all the financial rewards in the world don't make it worth it, do they.

Hope things have gone well anyway.

Hi SC, Sal and EH - thanks for posting always nice to come back to.

Well they kept me waiting nearly 20 minutes then the interview was about an hour and 30 minutes - so got home about 10-15 minutes ago from a 5.30pm interview! Doesn't exactly make for an instant warm and fuzzy feeling about the place. Immediately had row with OH (who had prepared nothing for my tea) and was ignoring me! I'd told DS he needed an early night and instead OH and DS were watching a film that OH said I would find too scary... Ok how would that help with avoiding crying in the night/morning from DS

So I feel great - NOT

Going to go upstairs and check on son in a minute, as strangely everyone has now scarpered.... How to feel like the big bad wolf in 3 easy stages

    ps I am kn ackered

Hi - well kids now sorted... (and in bed - suitably hugged and kissed!) OH is sort of apologising with action. Just caught up on thelight bulbs that need changing and is making me a decaff coffee. I in turn have offered him some diet coke I bought lol.... Neither of us have used the word sorry yet tho!

Thanks CMD - I hope I am a good mum - I try very hard

I want A job, but I think that the one I went for today is a) too far away b) under resourced generally and c) has a poor reputation. I think I would be shattered every day... I think I should wait for something else as I just feel really bad about this job - and last time I felt like that and took the job it didn't work out well.... OH is supportive of me not taking it if offered but still struggling to give myself permission.

I took redundancy 4 years ago after severe depression as I wanted a better work life balance - this does not fit that value at all...

Believe me I never want to go for another interview again. I want to find a deep dark hole somewhere and hibernate... :o Unfortunately that would not pay the bills. I think though I still need to be kind to myself in where I apply to and I am trying to tell myself it is okay not to want a job 42 miles away from my kids and where the working hours would be long and there are roadworks on the motorway and two town centres to drive thro!

Thank you! It is soooooooo hard to just keep going.... but I have to believe that the right job for me is still out there.... but I do wish they would give it me without interview or application... I'm so fed up of that bit of the process :rotfl:

    Hi SH,

Sorry to hear the interview today was a nitemare, i.e. getting home at a very late hour! Hope OH apologised big time for not making you dinner!

Got 2 off those kilner jars from Asda, think they're the right ones (were £2 each), going to buy some Haribos and stuff for my neice and nephew and was going to get another one for our family lucky dip (usually about £20), any ideas what I could fill it with? Has to suit a female (3 sisters or mum will get it)!
