yep it is a bit of a pain making do till the wages start rolling in again ....having just a wee bit of savings can make all the difference
i found once i didnt have the money when hubby went from weekly to monthly pay ...they gave a 0% loan of £500 (paying it off at £50 a month) to help us with the transistion but that wasnt much help either ...we struggled and had to borrow a good amount (cant remember how much exactly) it took us months to recover ...and yet it was just three weeks money and we got £500 (loan) to help us out ...going from weekly to monthly was hard ...if we wouldve had a wee bit of savings it wouldve made a difference0 -
OH gets paid next week so that is good
The week after hopefully I will get my first pay cheque. Then in this job I should be weekly paid from that point on... Unfortunately tho I am on holiday the week after next so won't get any pay for that one.....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

ahh thats a bit of a pain but i am sure it will be worth it ...having a break is just what the soul ordered sometimes ....weekly paid ...i find that handy ...when i was doing job no2 as well as no1 i was paid fortngihtly but it worked out to be the opposite week from job no1 and hubbys job so we always had money every week ...have to admit i did get a bit too used to it so when i stopped it took a bit of getting used to ...what you doing with your first pay cheque?0

We are off on a free holiday to Cornwall courtesy of a survey I did just after I joined MSE!
First money will be needed to pay bills and a little bit of holiday money - credit card I used for the last month. If I'd not got the job - I would have had to use savings to pay it with so it is still all good!
We still have £1.6K of savings left - and I am still awaiting a pension refund of around £1.5K could be slightly more won't know until it comes. Should arrive any day now.... Need to try and stick to plan tho and pay off between £1 and £1.5K a month.... Tricky for first few weeks tho as first month includes lots of days not worked!
We are still getting regular 0% offers so think will just priortise debt repayment rather than saving again! Need to agree a repayment plan with MIL for the £4k we borrowed from her.
Just really hope I get the perm job and then don't need to divert money to pay for yet another car!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

:T:rotfl::T:j:Tyou mean when you get the new job ???
I hope you are right. I have to meet 2 directors - I met one as a "surprise" guest at the presentation I did the other day! So hopefully it really will end well! Daren't hope too much but have started looking at cars in a whole new way (I would get a car with the job) :rotfl:
The holiday in Cornwall is for a week at a timeshare place but luxury self catering accommodation - fabarooni :jWe don't have any meetings to go to.... just enjoy!
Fanatastic year to get 2 free holidays! Think I may need to do some more surveys :rotfl:try again for next year :rotfl:Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Well survived day 3 in new job. Seems to be going well so far. Hopefully will receive first pay cheque this Friday which would be absolutely fab! Lots of expenses I can claim already - some of which is mileage that compared to petrol cost I should make a "profit" on of about £88 so far! I will add it to my sig once received!
Not heard any more about perm job - just chased that up
Have received £13 in clubcard vouchers and £14 in M&S vouchers today so that was nice!
Hope everyone else is doing okay!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
